🖕 🍊 🤡 A Continuing Round-Up of Trumpian Events 🖕 🍊 🤡

Everything the Trump White House and Bill Barr are doing reminds me of a gambler doubling down and going deeper into debt, or perhaps some prospector looking for gold in the desert while running out of food and water. The worse things look the more they redouble their efforts to find the gold they just know is around here somewhere, because if there’s no gold then they are completely screwed.

So Barr is investigating his own Justice Department to find the dirty crooks that must be there-- he needs to find this fictitious evil cabal to vindicate both the president and himself. “See? See? I told you there was a deep state conspiracy!!”

And the fact that they won’t find one doesn’t matter because Fox News and most Republican politicians will just crow about how “the gold is there, we just haven’t found it yet. . . because of another conspiracy to hide the gold from us!”

Here’s the back cover of the book “A Warning” to be published next month…

I expected some popcorn recipes.

I thought it was in this thread, but I guess it was another where someone linked a tweet about how they always called things “witch hunts” and “lynchings” because to make analogies to being persecuted they have to use analogies to the persecution of people of colour or women. They can’t make an analogy to a systematic persecution of white men because that never happened.

But you’ve got it right there. If we are going to rhetorically use murder as an analogy for what is being done to Trump, regicide really is the proper analogy.

Not if the fucker is still breathing, it isn’t.

Every “cide” inherently means ‘ending in death’: homicide, matricide, suicide…

Not only that but if he were actually interested in saving taxpayer dollars, he could stop fucking golfing at his own resorts every god damned weekend.

Thank you sir, may I have another?

To a Saudi or Russian interest no doubt.

If it were not for the bribery it would be out of business.

Irony:

I have a sneaking suspicion the buyer will be an inscrutable shell company from Crete or some such. No connection whatsoever to Darapaska or any of his fellow travelers. Of course not.

Not strictly speaking Trumpian, but maybe paraTrumpian?

Democracies around the world are falling into authoritative autocratic rule. Really sad to watch.

The obvious conclusion is that the only way to fully express the popular will is to ban elections and let Trump inform us what our will actually is. Otherwise, we might get all confuzzled and elect someone else! Can’t have that, now can we?

Yep. It’s funny how scenarios that I would have accused others of being paranoid about just a few years ago, are now, I believe, scenarios that a reasonable person would be justifiably concerned with. Now, I wouldn’t put it past House investigators to conceal the actual gender and job position of a WH whistleblower; damn, if I was that whistleblower, I’d insist on that (I being allergic to polonium and ricin and apparent suicide).

I guess throwing his bootlickers under the bus one at a time was too exhausting.

Between this and sending talking points accidentally to the DNC twice, the incompetence on display of the current administration is breathtaking.
