Good. Tell them to put plastic bags on their heads. Should be perfectly safe, right?

Maybe they should eat their own shit then. After all, it can’t be bad, it comes from their body.

Charging a fee for asylum applications? Sure, why not. Let’s just pile on the cruelty.

cuz c’mon. Everyone knows that criminals and terrorists are easily deterred by a bureaucratic fee (and definitely don’t have the capacity to have a corrupt connection helping wave them through), while anyone who’s actually desperately poor and vulnerable has cash on hand. It’s a perfect filter!

Why give him a win? WTF?

Yes, we need better infrastructure but, at what cost? He’ll just claim that it was all his idea in the lead to 2020.

Just hide and watch. He (or his handlers) will not allow anything that “Chuck and Nancy” could paint as a win for them. He will screw this over at some point.

And all the resulting disasters and corruption that will inevitably result will fall on…well, the frog, not the scorpion.

“Pelosi and Schumer cautioned that they and the White House had not agreed on how to pay for a $2 trillion package to improve the nation’s roads, bridges, waterways and broadband, but that they had decided to meet in another three weeks to solicit Trump’s ideas on funding.”

He’ll privatize it all.

My guess is suddenly a lot of infrastructure is going to require tremendous amounts of Russian asbestos, just the best asbestos out there.

Hey, if they don’t want the Russians to make a profit they could cut out the middleman and just hire Trump Org to do the projects.

I’m pretty sure it’s their job to pursue good things in government despite Trump, not just copy the Republican playbook.

The cost of just telling Trump to go fuck off with his infrastructure bill rather than putting forth a good faith effort will just fit into the “obstructionist Democrats” narrative and will be taking a page straight out of the Republican playbook (the true obstructionists).

Infrastructure is one of the truly “safe” legislative areas in that pretty much anybody on either side of the political spectrum (save for the hardcore libertarians) can agree on as being something of importance. So to that end, I don’t think that “OMG Congress is doing their job” is really going to be “giving him a win”. Given Trump’s past performance, I’m sure he’ll find a way to fuck it all up and then blame it on Democrats.

That said, if any progress is made here he’ll no doubt try to spin this as irrefutable evidence that he’s the Great Compromiser, the one finally able to bridge the partisan divide and make things happen! (Despite the past several years of not being able to do this – even when the R’s ran the table.)

“It took less than four hours to sell off all the tractors, combines and other farm equipment at the Taphorn retirement sale, ending a family tradition that had survived nearly a century.”

“We went through the bad times in the ‘70s and ‘80s,” said Jim, 68, broad-shouldered and stocky. “In some ways, this is worse.”

Yes, because you are suffering self inflicted pain created by the asshole you most likely voted for. Forced early retirement is looking good right?

Not only that, Trump’s deficit bill is a big part of why he is losing support. His plan to spend big and slash taxes has not worked, and his continued budget stand-offs always also lose him support.
