An update on the NAVY rearing up on its hind heals and going…:
In a statement issued by Hoffman, Esper said he had lost “trust and confidence” in Spencer after learning that the Navy secretary had “privately” proposed to the White House to allow Gallagher to retire in his current rank and without losing his status as a SEAL. Esper said that in previous conversations with Spencer about the Gallagher matter, Spencer had not told Esper of his proposal to the White House.

Well the Iraqi Kurds aren’t the same as the YPG. I’m not sure how much intergroup cooperation there is among them, but I know that at least to some extent the Kurds in northern Iraq at least have oil fields (I believe now under Iraqi govt control due to some other spat they had two or three years ago). And Iraq right now looks to be becoming a failed state in slow motion, so who knows what else brought up this visit.
Former Secretary of the Navy likely isn’t.
