I agree that the dual loyalty thing is an awful accusation to make based on someone’s faith. heck its what Hitler did too. But Trump is literally conflating criticizing the state of Israel with being anti-semetic. (im talking about his announced executive order now, not the article you posted about him) those are very different things. Omar’s quote in the Atlantic article seems, well maybe poorly worded, but not pointed at Jewish Americans but rather at american politicians who, as Trump is doing, are demanding that the state of Israel never be criticized. saying you dont trust JFK because you think he has a dual loyalty with the vatican is bad. saying that if you criticize the vatican’s handling of child molestation by priests you must hate catholics is also confusingly wrong.

Trump is on the one hand accusing Jewish Voters who support democrats of not being loyal Americans (the article you posted), an anti Semitic trope, while accusing people not giving unwavering support for the state of Israel of anti-semitism (the proposed executive order announced last night) . the logic is f’d up and plays on American fear of being accused of anti-semitism. Thats a good thing generally that Americans don’t want to be seen as anti Semitic and probably why Im going on and on here trying to explain my point of view on all this. But Trump using that anxiety to quell legitimate criticism of Israeli policy towards Palestinians is manipulative and wrong.

Many of those comments suggest that the GOP can’t win the election with Trump. I think there was a moment of reckoning for Graham (and many others) when that turned out to be wrong. “The left” had been saying for years that they were the party of racism and ignorance and they said that was an awful thing to say about them. But they are the party of racism and ignorance.

Tom Massie had a quotation about that, how they realized no one was voting for libertarian ideals, they were just voting for the craziest guy in the room.

But what do you do with that information? If it were me I’d re-evaluate the choices that had taken me there, but that is why it’s not me. They are in take-the-money-and-run mode.

Maybe, but he kept on with the criticism of Trump for almost a year after the election. Then he went golfing at Mar-a-Lago, was shown the contents of the Ark of the Covenant, and did his about-face.

That must have been some serious kompromat Trump pulled out of his golf bag. Wonder where he got it?

There’s so much wrong here. From being granted favors by a foreign nation to kill endangered species, to republican donors paying to be a part of this, to everybody refusing to even acknowledge that this happened.

But hey, Hunter Biden, right?

I guess that answers the question about what happens when the Second Amendment goes after the First…
