I totally agree with you that there’s a component of not wanting the kid (and mom) on welfare. Heaven forfend!

But it is also true that torturing women is absolutely a key part of the thinking process.

The BBC was able to take enough photos of the “secret deal” paper that reporters were able to read it and see what the “deal” was all about. It’s just what Mexico already told us. (Basically, they get 45 days to prove that they can stem the flow of people seeking asylum, and if they can’t, negotiations will go on to see if Mexico accepts Central American asylum seekers instead of America as a ‘safe third country’).
