The only issue with the “Pence is worse than Trump” theory is that there is zero evidence of Pence being a savvy politician, and working with the establishment that removes Trump means Trump’s base will fight him (at least initially until they are given their updated propaganda). The guy has done as much damage as Trump now, and spends his days feeding the evangelical base under Trump. Right now, he is probably the most influential Republican at the state level - and the state level is where Pence is at his most dangerous. I feel they are similarly competent, both would hand their work over to crazy generals and propagandists, and both are capable of long term unmitigated damage to the US political system. At least an impeachment means there will be little actual legislation that is possible in the chaos without widespread protest, and Pence has almost none of Trump’s charisma.
It also needs to be said that the Bloomberg article is really dumb with a headline designed to incite even if the opinions expressed are not awful. Not that there is a non-awful “solution” for Trump.
The statues are arguably an attempt to erase history: the Confederacy lost, slavery was outlawed.
This sounds like he is saying the confederacy is the “more perfect union” side, because it’s bonkers logic.
It sounds like Benedict Arnold got a pretty raw deal then, with only a statue of his boot.
