The removal of his star would be just a start.

Letting his ill-gotten real-estate empire crumble under the weight of mass boycotts would be another.

Agreed; boycotting his “brand” is indeed the obvious first step and coincidentally for me the easiest - I’ve never bought anything with his name on it before, and I don’t intend to ever start.

Someone in one of my Facebook groups posted this:

She said she was going to print it and mail it to Congressional Republicans. I think it’s a swell idea, and I believe this image would fit really well on a postcard. Pretty sure I have some postcard stock for my printer hanging around. I wonder if Paul Ryan’s home address is still rattling around out there? Extra copies for him.

Sorted by state … if your rep is on the list of non-communication, you might want to give them a call and ask them why.

Whaddaya know. I still haven’t forgiven McCain for bringing Sarah Palin into the mainstream and thus normalizing the “who needs qualifications?” attitude that allowed Trump to get the nomination, but this is a good step:

STATEMENT BY SENATORS McCAIN & GRAHAM ON EXECUTIVE ORDER ON IMMIGRATION
Washington, D.C. – U.S. Senators John McCain (R-AZ) and Lindsey Graham (R-SC) released the following statement today on the President’s executive order on immigration:

“Our government has a responsibility to defend our borders, but we must do so in a way that makes us safer and upholds all that is decent and exceptional about our nation.

“It is clear from the confusion at our airports across the nation that President Trump’s executive order was not properly vetted. We are particularly concerned by reports that this order went into effect with little to no consultation with the Departments of State, Defense, Justice, and Homeland Security.

“Such a hasty process risks harmful results. We should not stop green-card holders from returning to the country they call home. We should not stop those who have served as interpreters for our military and diplomats from seeking refuge in the country they risked their lives to help. And we should not turn our backs on those refugees who have been shown through extensive vetting to pose no demonstrable threat to our nation, and who have suffered unspeakable horrors, most of them women and children.

“Ultimately, we fear this executive order will become a self-inflicted wound in the fight against terrorism. At this very moment, American troops are fighting side-by-side with our Iraqi partners to defeat ISIL. But this executive order bans Iraqi pilots from coming to military bases in Arizona to fight our common enemies. Our most important allies in the fight against ISIL are the vast majority of Muslims who reject its apocalyptic ideology of hatred. This executive order sends a signal, intended or not, that America does not want Muslims coming into our country. That is why we fear this executive order may do more to help terrorist recruitment than improve our security.”

IMO Donald Trump is unworthy of the title of President, so I refuse to use it when referring to him. It’s a minor thing, but it’s the principle of “with all due respect”…

Not sure this deserves its own thread (guessing no) but not sure where else to put this

Senator Lisa Murkowski is one of 12 Republicans on the committee voting on Tuesday on whether or not billionaire heiress Betsy DeVos (nominee for Sec of Education) goes before the full senate. Just one Republican no vote means she does not! Murkowski is at the top of the list of potential flippers – and is getting calls from all over the country. Please consider calling her office to urge her to vote no against this unqualified nominee. Her number is (202) 224-6665.

Spread the word.

In conversation, I refer to him simply as ‘Trump’. Were I to write a news release though, ‘U.S. president Donald Trump’ would be appropriate, albeit terrifying both to read and type as Trump is undeserving of any title beyond ‘asshole’.

In a good year the WHCD is nauseating. This year it could really be something to behold.
