Alex Jones deletes video promoting 'Pizzagate' conspiracy theory

You’re assuming conspiracy theorists hold nationalism over the “truth”.

For some there is an overlap, for others not so much. See also “9/11 was an inside job”.

Given that it’s better to have fewer people exposed to this nonsense, isn’t it a good thing that he unpublished this video?

There’s the cognitive dissonance of Republicans talking about how terrible the government is - when they’re in government, but acting like one is powerless while in the White House is a whole new level.

True, but there’s no actual seed, no real event, around which the conspiracy narrative has crystalized. All the (very minor but) real scandals of the Clintons had been completely mined out, conspiracy wise, leading to creating new ones out of whole cloth. That kind of obsessive focus on a figure who wasn’t really doing anything is new, too, it seems like.

Anti-Semitic conspiracies are one exception I was thinking of - though most often cynically used by leaders to distract, not because they actually believed in them. Trump’s cabinet is doing both - using them to distract but also buying into the insanity.

It isn’t technically basement; it’s a direct connection to the Deep Underground Military Bases. Y’know, the ones the illuminati, reptillians, and NWO have been excavating with their nuclear boring machines for years now. Obviously.

What is “Fruit Loop” code for?

Do people honestly believe this stuff?

Totally unrelated, but . . . What the hell is this “Rune” thing that now pops up when I highlight any text on BB? It’s obnoxious, and I want to get rid of it.

massage therapists,

I do like that particular subgenre of porn…

I don’t; but the enthusiasts seem pretty sincere.

So, you know the people who give shitweasels a bad name? Alex Jones gives those people a bad name.

Thing is, when gullible idiocy and being heavily armed are not mutually exclusive, that kind of shitty incitement needs to be actionable.

Dude, pizzagate was literally invented in /pol/ - with significant overlap with people who believe the post number of their post can invoke literal magic to have their memes influence the world. We are far removed from just pushing back on elites.

It has only gotten stronger after post #77777777 declared Trump will win and he did.

I can’t tell - am I the one out of touch with reality, or are they?

I’d agree, but what are you going to do? At least Alex Jones had some sense to cool it after someone actually acted on it. But seriously, what are you going to do? You can’t round up 4Chan or Reddit users. I don’t think you could make anything stick with someone like Alex Jones. He didn’t tell anyone to actual go shoot up the place, did he? (Did he?) Active suppression will probably just add credence to the conspiracy. I’d say that education and real journalism might make a dent, but then again look at how many people STILL think vaccines harm people and GMO foods are going to give your cancer and make you grow a tail?

Are you claiming they didn’t order pizza? Look you’re right that there isn’t a single event, like the moon landing, or the JFK assassination. The got “secret emails” and started to play “Beautiful Mind” with them, connecting dots until it starts to look like something. Reminds me of this guy in California finding triangle shaped rocks buried in dirt and and things they are scales of extinct dragons.

And look, don’t all act like this is the first conspiracy of pedophile rings run by elites. There has been rumors about ones in Hollywood, and IIRC there has been accusations of ones here on BB as well. This time instead of a secret mountain mansion or private jet that no one who isn’t part of it will ever find, it’s at a pizza joint in DC that you can walk up to. I guess that is what makes this conspiracy different is you could bust in and confront it.

¯_(ツ)_/¯

Many times I feel the same way.

Here’s your conspiracy: Alex Jones recently had Adam Curry on his show – same Adam Curry who used to be on MTV, did the Daily Source Code podcast, and now does the No Agenda podcast with John C. Dvorak.

A couple weeks ago, Curry did a brief pizzagate analysis, which boiled down to, “You’re seeing things that aren’t there. Knock it off.” Perhaps he said the same thing to Jones at some point, and Jones decided to take Curry’s advice and knock it off?
