I like BBS because many threads are eye-opening* - quite literally, I observed consciously the facial expressions of my fellow social animals around me. Most of them at work (f/m ratio of about 60/40, wide range of ages between 16 (apprentices) and 60+ (last working years before retirement), about 800 persons, so we don’t really know each other).
No one here smiles all the time (or stares angry or shows another extreme [for lack of a better word] emotion), the normal expression is relaxed.
And this is the Default Face hereabout, no qualifier needed, strike the sour - and I don’t expect something different, this is simply part of life, be it at work or walking in the streets or visiting a pub. People show emotions when they are warranted [not the word I’m looking for, but whatever], but they are not some kind of 24/7 cloak.
But then I live in Germany, and we’re infamous for our rude and unfriendly coldness.
