I mean yes, he needs to presume innocence until a citizen confesses to being a Nazi. Sounds like he did just that.

That only works if your definition of society embraces everyone. Fascists would say that their enemies want to “destroy society” and deserve no rights, because their idea of society is limited to the people who they think should be part of the national community.

Those are pretty much equivalent statements. The only question then is who gets to define what society is. If we allow it to be left to the fascists, we are done. Many of us, quite literally.

I simply must point out that punching Nazis is not always the right thing to do. I mean, what if they’re already on the ground? In this case, it’s much better to kick them. Some of us don’t have the best knees and it can be a strain on the body to bend over that far.
