As transgender rights get rolled back, America needs more bathroom cops

Any wonder why suicide is higher in those that identify as transgendered? Not just the fact body image doesn’t match physical meatsack, but not ever being sure who you can trust, always being afraid, always feeling like something is so wrong you cannot confide in people you should otherwise be able to trust. I’m glad I met my friend before they it a severe downhill slide. I can’t ever be sure how much me being a friend helped, but I’d like tothink the fact they stuck their neck out to keep me from pulling in on myself is simply repaying the favor.

Saved as future ammunition.
Thank’ee. :+1:

They don’t. This is a * perceived * threat brought on by that North Carolina bill. It’s just hysteria, pure and simple, a new form of prejudice.

“Police Refuse to Believe Lesbian Is a Woman, Force Her Out Of Bathroom”

This is why those single-use, unisex, one-person restrooms in places such as Target are so important.

Idiot “bathroom enforcers” are going to be like the TSA – wholly unqualified to do what they’re doing. Men and women frequently cross perceptions into looking more “feminine” and “masculine” all the time, regardless of whether they’re hetero, gay/lesbian, intersex, trans, or whatever. The people “enforcing” will be completely ignorant to this fact and just be working off their own prejudices.

May I someday read this headline:

#Transphobe Counterattacked in Men’s Bathroom by Cross-Dressing Protester
Asheville, NC

Mike Swill, 37, got the ever-hating shit kicked out of him when he attempted to attack a trans-woman in the men’s bathroom who, it turned out, was actually an impeccably dressed Kurt Hawkeye, 43, a cis-male, local LGBTQ rights activist, former Marine, and happily married father. Hawkeye and his wife have two daughters, the youngest of whom is transgender.

Hawkeye: “I’m a prowling bitch in drag until this fustercluck is resolved.”

Good arguments to present to anybody that’s Concerned about trans people using whatever bathroom they feel comfortable with.

Terrifyingly, small scale drone strikes are moving into the realm of even moderately well-equipped terrorists.

Yeah i always do find that ironic

This means that trans women can be attracted to men, gay, bi, or exclusively turned on by Jeff Goldblum. Same goes for trans men.

Maybe not exclusively. :cold_sweat:

These kinds of bills are a disaster, because trans, queer, and intersex people can often be seen as “out of place” in male or female bathrooms alike - not only their preferred choice. So even if one is forced to go to “the other” bathroom, there could just be more confusion in that one, amounting to more minutes of “heavy vetting” when one really needs to use the toilet. And the kinds of sadistic creeps who like to patrol bathrooms would probably delight at trying to get somebody they don’t like the look of to soil themselves, since this would allow them to inflict more humiliation with little effort.

But a large public outcry would backfire against them when it is only these bathroom police who are the ones inspecting stranger’s genitals, rather than the strawx perverts they claim are everywhere.
