Further context: That’s more than it costs to keep a thousand seniors on “Meals on Wheels” for a year.
Or nearly enough to fund one weekend trip to Mar-a-Lago.

The crossed arms are a really interesting choice. Traditionally it’s a sign of being defensive and closed off. Every single business communication seminar I’ve ever been made to take it work has told you not to cross your arms in front of clients.
And Melania is a professional model. She knows exactly what that pose means. Altogether it’s an odd choice for a First Lady portrait.
Of course, if they’re not even bothering to hide it and just going full-tilt kleptocrat it makes more sense. Even the copious airbrushing makes more sense.

It’s is interesting to note that it now is apparently once again ok to be critical of the way people look. Do the rules against being critical of people’s looks apply only when a Democrat is in the White House?
Isn’t that basically what vaporwave is?
Oh there’s photoshop aplenty in that image; that’s why it looks straight out of a GlamourShots photo-shoot…
Welcome new poster!
But it is OK to be critical of really shitty photography and excessive use of airbrushing. Oh, and Star-Commander Semiotics, who isn’t in this film. But you’d have read that just a few comments up, right?
Velcome to Boing Boing, comrade.
No one here is mocking the way she looks, but rather the way she was photographed (and subsequently retouched).
No, we’re being critical of an over processed and laughably cheesy portrait that looks like something straight out of a shopping mall photo kiosk circa 1983.
Melania looks great.
Put her in charge!
Please see my note above:
… then get back to me.
This is true; no one here has said or even implied that she’s not an attractive woman.
Her life choices/personal relationships, on the other hand; now that’s a whole 'nother story.
From the couple of interviews I’ve read, she does seem to be the most honest one. Not that’s a very big hurdle to clear with 45’s mob* but I do get the impression she’d be a lot happier without all this Presidency nonsense and just swanning about doing rich people stuff.
*Understatement Of The Year contender.
When the bar is set so low that it’s underground, that’s really not saying much.
No matter how hard she tries, she can’t airbrush away the stains on her soul.
Nor can she wash away the tainted stench of 45’s touch…
So many levels of foul taint.
