I just looked it up, curious about this, and found that it actually rivals that of some good size cities (and has a much bigger budget, too): 2000 officers. More than, say, Atlanta. But still, given the importance, and the money they have to spend, they have the option to be more rigorous about vetting than equivalent-sized forces.

Events like this just bring it home that we Homosapiens, not matter how amazing we can be, will never be good enough to overcome racism.

Or even just: “Black officers say racism is endemic in Capitol Police American power structures.”
To hell with that defeatist crap. Racism is not an intrinsic trait. It can and will be overcome and defeated.
