31 was awesome. You have a bod for sin and the brains to use it *. Here’s to a good year and many more.

I remember feeling depressed when I turned 30. Thirty! How did this happen?!? I happened to be kayaking down the Grand Canyon on that day LOL. What an idiot. I had things I could complain about, like anyone, like maybe lack of readily-available caffeine, but turning 30 wasn’t one of them.

(* That’s a 9 to 5 reference.)

Happy birthday! And only nine more years until the next big milestone.

I just turned 42, which is weird, because I swear I was just a kid recently.

It’s extremely bizarre to be the same age that I remember my parents being when I grew up. They were adults. I look in the mirror and see the same person I remember from my 20s and 30s. It’s very odd to think that my 6 year old nephew looks at me and sees an Adult.

Don’t look in the mirror, look at the back of your hands. That’ll scare you.

(This from someone who’s still 16)

It’s bizarre to be menopausal and the age my mom was when she had her mastectomy (okay, that was more alarming than bizarre). When I had a mammogram in June the radiology tech complimented them on their shape and size and I was thrilled to learn my breasts were problem-free.

Visited, looked at ingredients of a night cream. Are the ingredients listings on the products themselves really that short and pure? I’m gonna sound like a shill here but seriously no dimethicone, parabens or sulfates, just vitamins, glycerin, and the sort of ingredients I value in my homemade bone broths?

I used to work on art and stuff for Oil of Olay (aka Olay) and the head of Olay once told me, ā€œAll of these creams are the same damn thing. Different textures and fragrances and there’s other random vitamins or whatever stuck in there. But there’s only two things you need: glycerin and vitamin A. If your moisturizer has lots of vitamin A and glycerin, it could cost $5 or $500. It’ll do the same job of making your skin ā– ā– ā– ā– ā– .ā€

I’ll take a picture of the bottles and post them when I get home.

All I knows is… when I started using this stuff (and I swear I’m not a shill, I swear!) I got comments on my skin… like ā€œOMG MissyPants your skin looks amazing!ā€ - like for realzies, and not from my BFFs from my coworkers! Also, this stuff has enough Vitamin A to actually deal with pimples because there’s nothing sexier than being old enough to worry about wrinkles but ALSO getting breakouts!

Egads! I’ve got young/old skin thing going, too. I think I had fewer zits when I was 16.

Right? If you had told teen-me that I’d be dealing with zits at 44 I’d have clocked you!

You’ve got me sold  So what do you recommend, the cream or the serum? Is the eye cream worthwhile?

Heh, the nice thing is this stuff is NOT expensive as far as anti-wrinkle retinol crap goes, so even if you don’t like you’re not shelling out $100 a pop to just try it. (Also Winners [thats TJMaxx for Canadians, literally same co.] carries it so I don’t need to worry about shipping!)

Here is what I use:
Skin Oil: FUCKING LOVE THIS SHIT! I got suckered in Sephora and shelled out for an $80 version that is not as good as this one. This is soothing and nice and just get it ok? I use 4 drops morning and night before moisturizing.

Night Cream: this is HEAVILY scented, so if you can’t do scents skip it. Apart from thats, its awesome.

Brightening Mask: EXFOLIATE EXFOLIATE EXFOLIATE - this does a weird burny/numb thing, but I like it. :slight_smile:https://www.retinoltreatment.com/products.cfm?Page=Products&Product=RT%20Advanced%20Brightening%20Mask&PagePath=0,201

Wrinkle serum & Brightening serum: I just got these this week, I’ll let you know what I think next month. (so far I think they’re just superflourous)

Brightening Night cream: I also only just got this, but so far I like it. Very similar to the night cream but NOT heavily scented. So far so good.

I don’t use eye cream because I totes ignore the warnings ā€œkeep out of eye areaā€ and I totally slather everything everywhere. So far: no eye irritation! (or blindness!)

I do realize this is the second time I’ve shilled these… and I’m sorry, they’re just good ok? I will only ever link to this from now on.

Thanks!! Their selections for men are a little more limited (we get Eye Cream, Moisturizer, or Serum), but I imagine the skin oil for ladies couldn’t hurt my rugged, manly (cough) face.

I have it on a t-shirt. No idea where it came from, though. Maybe Woot?

Edit: Silly me, Amazon, of course: https://www.amazon.com/Darmok-Jalad-Shirt-Medium-Asphalt/dp/B01ECTHQ60/ref=sr_1_3?ie=UTF8&qid=1472239036&sr=8-3&keywords=darmok+and+jalad+shirt
