…
She left something, alright. I think it was her mind, her morals, her ethics, probably a few more insubstantial dribs and drabs. And she thinks she will be one of the winners in tis? No matter who wins, she will lose. It’s kinda sad actually.
I’m just going to go out on a limb here and state that the Candace Owens experience will not end well.
Candace got all her talent from Morgus’s craniotomy recorder and is angry at science when it didn’t work
for reference:
short audio:
sampling old NOLA late night tv sci-fi show:
Yeah, she’s really trying to paint herself as One Of The Good Ones, and still gets trashed on the regular.
A woman of color? She’s got at least two targets on her by the MAGA kids.
The fact that conservatives buy wholesale into implausible conspiracies isn’t surprising when you consider they’ve been anti-science for a long time, and when you’re anti-science you’re anti-reality.
Science isn’t an institution so much as a mode of thought. You hypothesize, you measure and test, and then you either confirm the hypothesis or come up with a new one. If you’re proven wrong it’s not a bad thing, it’s a good thing because now we can all dismiss the faulty idea and move on. Whereas religions tend to double down on faulty ideas rather than shake their faith.
Meh, that’s all just engineering. /s
Although, I like the possible headline:
Trump followers see link between paganism, ability to fly
What’s next?
Whatever gains her some clicks and media attention.
Huh, well, I guess I called it a month ago…
It’s not really a surprise, given that once you’re on the anti-science track, it inevitably leads certain places…
Demonstrating her true expertise: saying whatever ridiculous thing will get her attention.
Well she got escorted out of the Daily Wire because her antisemitism got too blatant for Shapiro, so she lost a good portion of her audience. I would expect the batshittery to intensify.
… do I even want to know why this person is famous in the first place
Using the miracle of satellite based communication technology to wonder whether or not the world is round.
“I’m not a flat earther. I’m not a round earther. Actually, what I am is I am somebody who has left the cult of science.”
“I just like to keep an open mind! I’m open to anything, unless it can potentially be disproven. Testing what is and isn’t real is for cultists!”
It’s somewhat interesting, actually. When she was in high school, some white male classmates left her some absolutely terrible bullying voice mails. Her family sued the school, and got a small settlement. Fast forward a few years, she’s running her own marketing company which includes blogging, and her big thing was calling out online bullying, and she seemed to be on the left, politically. She criticized the tea party movement, even mocked Trump’s penis size. Then she started a service that doxxed online bullies. This was in 2016. There was the usual handwringing from both the left and the right on whether or not this was an ok thing to do. Inevitably, someone doxxed her. For some reason, she became convinced that it was progressives who doxxed her, and she flipped her politics literally overnight. She went from a pretty typical liberal to fully on board the Trump train in a single day. She has continued to move to the right ever since.
