Conservatives angry at Burger King over ad where someone says "Damn that's good"

I can’t help but think the real outrage here is that “Damn that’s good” was apparently referring to a meatless burger, because I know how upset conservatives get over anything vegan/vegetarian.

There’s another BK commercial that I actually get a kick out of, because some cowboy at a bar says, “I’m a damn fool!” It’s also about a meatless burger. Where’s the outrage over this one? Have they not seen it yet?

Ha! People offended by how other people use language. What crazies!

While I don’t agree with the moms, I think that if we went back to the standards of the 1950’s as it regards broadcasts and print media, we would have a population of students with at least a slightly better vocabulary, and a population of mom’s with more time for illicit affairs with postmen (and postwomen) and utility workers.

But that’s just me…

A good point, well made.

Yeah. Fuck that. I’m not going back to being a second class citizen, where I can fired for getting pregnant, and endlessly sexual harassed with no recourse.

Literally, the ONLY people who the 1950s were better for were white straight men who were in charge and could exploit others with impunity. The rest of us, not so much…

These people have their own media channels, if they do not subscribe to the content that is on ours then my suggestion is do not watch it, Simple! They think the rest of the world should believe just as they do,
They would be surprised to find that even though a third of the world is Christian add all the other religions and they are outnumbered by a long shot, including non-believers. I think most these people would be floored if they heard their children talk when they are not around. Trying to shield them from what they have been exposed to in the modern world is a daunting task.

Seriously? Because that’s what Moms do?

Damn

Right? A near impossible one, unless you live entirely within a bubble with no internet access. It seems far better to lead by example, and to give kids tools for understanding the world around them in a critical way rather than to shield them from all that’s out there. If kids don’t understand the world and the diversity of thought within it, they will have a hard time adjusting to adulthood.

You gotta control women, because we’re property of our husbands, after all… /s :woman_shrugging:

Damn, One Hundred Karens don’t like the new Burger King commercial? That’s gotta hurt. I’m sure their PR department is working overtime on this one.

Fixed that for you.

We had someone like that in Britain too

Ah, yes… Mary Whitehouse… references to her regularly popped up on the various special feature documentaries on the classic Doctor Who dvds… She seems awful.

It is improved, for sure.
Technically, should be ‘god damned’ but whichever version, that’s where the likely - and mimsy - objection comes from. Damned is just a word. God damned may offend some religious prudes who do not like their deity’s name taken in vain. (Though there was me assuming deity-botherers mostly just saw that stuff as a test of their faith - faith being a thing to be tested.) But objecting to damn or damned is just idiocy. I expect they never say ‘damned with faint praise’ either.

How do we know it wasn’t a Faith & Family Left snowflake ? (Kidding) It’s just ridiculous to think that a conservative is freaking out over something like that when their orange boy says shit like

Yeah, but god forgives him, because he makes sure that the federal court system is stacked with misogynistic anti-choice judges… also, he’s working very hard to make Armageddon happen. So he’s fine… /s

Let me guess, are you a postman or a utility worker?
