I think they feel just as fucking bad as they did already. Your misplaced “concern” isn’t helping.
Completely unsurprised that there are more victims they didn’t know about yet. Because we either already know or learn quickly how it works.
Oh, and nice work piling on more trauma by adding guilt.
- Because there are assholes who feel the need to pile guilt on top of everything else with specious concern about how “others could have used the support”, like it’s some kind of pep rally or something,.
Best way to document a sexual assault is to permanently maim the assaulter.
I always assumed he’d go like Elvis, in mid-tweet.
I’m still holding out hope for in jail, surrounded by his family also in jail.
Not to diagnose her, or to presume I understand what she thinks, but trauma leaves a mark, and makes a lot of people, men and women, unable to function like they’d like to. There is no timeline for healing. Characteristic of PTSD is avoidance. From the APA definition:
- Avoiding reminders of the traumatic event may include avoiding people, places, activities, objects and situations that bring on distressing memories. People may try to avoid remembering or thinking about the traumatic event. They may resist talking about what happened or how they feel about it.
Delay in coming forward is not unusual. If you have these questions, you may want to read more on PTSD and trauma in general, rather than asking it of a specific victim.

Fifteen women came forward. But apparently 16 was the magic number that would have given the accusations “weight”?
Why doesn’t he and mike pence get struck dead by lightning at a rally.
That might actually turn the brain dead evangelical vote away from the republicans for half a minute.
Being a good ally means we listen to women.
Oh HELL no. You do not get to blame later victims for the perp and act like that’s some kind of reasonable assessment. Just stuff that nonsense already.
That’s great. Women are always known to survive physical attack by rapists, so your helpful advice will surely solve these previously intractable problems.
HEY @EVERYONE! Alan here figured out how to solve all rape cases! Let’s all throw a party at his house!
Hmm, I don’t think Xeni was telling you (or anyone) not to ask, or not to seek to understand things. What she said was
To everyone who wonders why it took so long?
Don’t.
To me that reads more as a slangy (i.e., informal) way of saying It’s no surprise that it took so long, because that’s how it is, sometimes it takes so long.
He doesn’t need Carroll to look bad. He does that all by himself.
I fear that Barron is going to be just like his dad.
I’d be curious to know what he sees/hears on a daily basis. For his sake, I hope somebody kind is raising him. We know his parents aren’t.*
*raising him
*or kind
And already admitted to it.
She said that she was advised to stay quiet because “he has 200 lawyers and he will bury you.” Given his history, that seems like logical, if horrible, advise.
On Facebook, a female friend of mine commented, “I really wish she had come forward before he was elected president, but better late than never.” I should have said something like this, or not said anything at all. For the record, I am not and was not shaming anyone, nor do I think Carroll should not be believed. Quite the contrary. But I do think it’s irresponsible and disturbing when a journalist tells their readers not to ask questions. If that makes me the sexist concern-troll you think I am, so be it.
