I wondered that too, but one would think that if he wasn’t on board with this, he’d be speaking up and making that clear. He’s an extremely online guy at this point, this can’t be going under his radar.
I hope they’re lying or at least exaggerating, but unfortunately wouldn’t be unduly shocked at him going MAGA given his judgment in authority figures with whom he’s willing to associate.

Computer repair experts say this story doesn’t make a lot of sense, and that it is incredibly hard to believe that a repair shop owner couldn’t identify exactly who dropped off the computer.
“Lots of holes in the chain of events that don’t make sense from the perspective of a repair shop,” Gay Gordon-Byrne, the executive director of the Repair Association, told Motherboard in an email. “In the real world, repair shops need to know the name of the customer in order to get paid. The equipment doesn’t just get dropped off in the night like a foundling on the steps of the nunnery.”

He doesn’t promote Trump, really, but he doesn’t seem to be a fan of Biden/Harris, at all. He mentions that he feels Democrats think they already have minority support, so they don’t have to do anything for Black people to earn those votes. He says their attitude is just “Shut up and vote.”
He says in the middle that he doesn’t feel like Black America can really trust either side for change, so they have to push whoever it is in power. He doesn’t seem to want to say “vote for Trump”, but there is a lot of “we need to do something, and we need to do it now.”
This is, sadly, the kind of thing I am hearing in everyday life. Coworkers mention Biden’s “some Black woman was able to stack the grocery shelf” gaffe almost daily. They mention the tired Republican propaganda that Democrats use social programs to keep Black Americans down.
He seems to be alluding to the things I hear from the people around me.

I didn’t bother listening to it; Ice Cube doesn’t speak for me, nor does he speak for the Black community as a whole.
Biden and Harris are not my ‘ideal’ choice either, but ya best be sure that I voted for the obviously less evil option, with full intent to ride them hard as hell after they get in office.
We need systemic reform, starting from the ground up.

Thanks for the summary. I mean he’s not wrong with the points you mention even though it also is nothing that wasn’t already said by Malcolm X back in the 1960s. I just don’t see how doing it’s doing anything other to prop up Trump, even if it’s just implicitly by invoking the “both sides suck” trope.

IMO, It carries far less weight coming from Cube, who is at least 20 years and several tax brackets removed from the common Black working class citizens.
It’s easy a/f fuck for a person of privilege to stand on ceremony; he won’t be one of the ones suffering the most if 45 gets another term.

That seems to be the overall thrust of his message. It is really hard to understand how he can turn a blind eye to Trump’s White Supremacist backing, his unconditional support for police atrocities, etc.

Unless he gets pulled over or walks down the wrong street (even if he lives on it). Not even wealth and fame protect Black Americans from random racist police atrocity.
