I was super confused as to why his name appeared on my California ballot as the Vice Presidential Candidate for the American Independent Party. But it was definitely there.
Edit to add: it’s pretty dang weird that, per the linked article, West could be selected as the VP candidate for the party of uber segregationist George Wallace without his knowledge or consent. California ballot rules are apparently really lax about that sort of thing. But as long as they were picking someone without their permission, why not choose someone more popular who actually has a chance of gaining them votes, like Michelle Obama?

I wasn’t calling you out as wrong, maybe yours didn’t have him on it, I don’t know. And you were definitely correct that he missed the deadline to appear as a presidential candidate as he wanted to. I simply meant to say he was definitely and unexpectedly there on mine, and the fact that he did appear on mine was really weird to me.
