Also: actual wild turkeys are about the size of a Canada goose. It’s just the abominations bred to be dinner which are so ridiculously huge.

…and also look remarkably similar to turkey vultures, which is what I thought I was seeing (I don’t guess they’re nearly as big as vultures, though). And they can also fly. (A few of them used to show up at work, but that was 8-10 years ago)

Here’s a blurry zoom-in on a female turkey in Indiana. The brick walkway gives some sense of size.
I had a sense someone had eyes on me, so I glanced out the window to find her a couple feet from the house, looking straight at me!
