Does what says on the tin, and is very easy to use too.
Furrydom has a pretty strange mix. The majority of it, in my experience, seem to be people who just want to interface with the world in a way they feel more comfortable with. That desire affects everyone to greater and lesser extents.
Fify… (blah blah 9 characters or something like that)
I was around as well, and was a lot angrier at the time. My experience was that they were generally individuals, sometimes a small group. Often individuals or a small group that could be convinced (in a very kind and I can absolutely guarantee non-violent fashion) to crawl back into their little shit holes and leave certain people and places alone.
Now, they seem much bolder (why not, after all one of their own is in the White house), and more organized. Perhaps it’s the internet allowing reinforcement of the stupid pretty much constantly, and allowing them to feel like a part of a bigger group, and not the frightened little bitches that they really are.
(old cranky non-white guy anger mode off…)
I am reminded the story that was told that Nixon created the EPA because agencies are under the purview of the executive keeping it out of the hands of Congress.
That is what I see here.
I can’t wait to read Barr’s summary report of the FBI report after Trump has had a chance to CLASSIFY any document that ties White Supremacists to Trump.
“We are what we pretend to be, so we must be careful about what we pretend to be.”

And some crossover with juggalos too, I think
That right there is full on Handmaid’s Tale territory. Gotta keep the white race going strong, after all!
Skins from Dallas would travel over to the punk bars in Ft Worth to start some shit. Whenever that happened, a “guard dog” would usher the punk girls out the back and away from the fracas. Then, if needed, we’d pool our money to bail our friends out of jail. The sooner the better, because Ft Worth cops would just arrest everybody in a leather jacket and toss them into the same big jail cell. Good times.
Yes, we called our guard dog “Doberman” or “Dobes” and fed him many a pizza from Domino’s. Never did learn that guy’s real name, either.
Gotta go forth and multiply.
(Thank you. Yes, I get all of that. The pic is labelled “Rush in Tank,” and it’s not. Akimbo refers to Rush as the subject. He’s not. I have a confusion.)
Yeah, that the juggaloes are antifascist struck me as odd, but considering the virulently anti-authoritarian streak I suppose it shouldn’t be surprising.
Granted most of the juggaloes I’ve known were of the crypto-religious variety.
true, true. art the articles from zines back in the day? interesting. US, or UK?
Maximum R-n-R notes this issue, as did flipside, and you can see discussions in some scene reports. Those are primarily US, of course, but attracted an international audience… plus, you can see some of it in the music as well (songs like Nazi punks by DK).
You can also see that in interviews with people in bands of various scenes about dealing with explicitly racist and antisemitic people coming to shows. This is a good overview of the split in dealing with such ideology between LA and the Orange Co scenes:
I’d argue that vigilence on such things was part of the reason why the white power movement in the late 80s and 90s were able to recruit people to their ideology, because it became unacceptable among some punk scenes and they were actively pushed out in some cases (not all). People like William Pierce actively worked to recruit people who had racist beliefs and liked punk or metal by setting up a record label to cater specifically to white power bands (which go back to at least Skrewdriver in the UK).
Speaking of those white supremacist assholes, here is a Memphis punk band, Negro Terror, covering skrewdriver songs:
RIP, Omar Higgins!
Now that they’re no longer ignoring the real threat of neo-Nazis, it implies there’s an even larger threat they are ignoring.
yeah, these aren’t blue lives matters types. they hate all police, and i worry it’ll take some poor bastard writing a highway ticket getting plugged before they take it seriously.
(i’m by no means a fan of the police, but i think we’ll always need some kind of unit, while not nessecarily armed, to enforce some things related to public order… but i want it to be more like the uk where they’re unarmed and seek to de-escalate/explain rather than churn tickets and mace you if you talk back)
great stuff – thank you for all the links!
BTW, fundie Xians are embracing polygamy, usually with their own or someone else’s girl children. Remember Warren Jeffs?
I routinely piss off anti-Semites by describing my Jewish schoolmates as the best mannered and studious of the bunch. The Christians were straight out of Heathers. Were it not for my best male friend the pacifist and leftist activist, I probably would have ended up in prison for doing the reality remake.
I’ve heard of Warren Jeffs and the FLDS. I was thinking about mainstream Christian fundies, not Mormons.
