…
It’s a market fiilled with suckers and, cousin , bidness is a-booming!
Isn’t defacing currency a federal crime, enforced by the Secret Service?
Maybe on bankruptcy notices.
You beat me to it. Someone needs to file a formal complaint wherever it is that it needs to be filed.
I asked the question, and you answered it.
Surely the Secret Service will step in to take care of this illegal currency manipulation
ETA: seems that since 2003 the secret service no longer deals with counterfeit currency issues. Fun facts!
Well, let’s hope they do not do so secretly.
I think that was @smulder, not me.
LOL. $20 for a $2 bill someone ran through a color laser printer. Sucker born every minute.
Them’s keepin’ bills, not spendin’ bills!
No way they’re legal tender anymore, not that anyone would be stupid enough to pay $20 for a $2 bill and then spend it for $2… oh wait…
Holy shit - they’re going to make millions selling this ‘suckers’ marketing list to every romance / tech support scammer, tonic salesman and Nigerian prince. It’s genius!
Well, at least they used real $2 bills, and thus is actually worth $2, unlike previous “Trump currency” which was entirely worthless but were labeled as $100 bills or greater (and people actually tried to spend as such).
But those are just laws. (If these people are smart - which… unlikely - these would just be stickers on top of $2 bills, which could be removed. Thus being technically legal and ripping off MAGAts.)
Nah, to get real ink opacity (to cover the bill), you’d want traditional printing methods. Which would be substantially cheaper at this kind of scale.
But the real scammer goldmine is simply a list of Trump supporters. The Trump campaign emails are already indistinguishable from the more ridiculous sorts of internet scams.
I doubt they will make millions but as long as they get more than they spent on the ad campaign they cant lose. This is some guy doing it out of his garage, I doubt he put more than 2k into it. Maybe you could even get the $2 bills on credit since you could always just cash them back in if they don’t sell.
… perhaps @RickMycroft meant “someone needs to file a complaint” is the answer
as in, everything is legal if nobody does anything about it, and as we know, cops barely spend any time actually fighting crime
Fake news. To get $10 worth of $2 bills you need to pay them $112 (there’s shipping and handling).
$12 to mail the equivalent of about 1 letter sized piece of paper? I should do more grifting and scamming.
