Fuck Elon Musk (Part 1)

Oh, I don’t imagine he has humanitarian impulses here at all. It just occurred to me that maybe he’s so far into himself that he thinks “never fear, I am going to sell you Starlink” is actually what a humanitarian gesture would look like.

I guess this is the part where Elon accuses his Ukrainian critics of being pedophiles because they aren’t duly appreciative of his support.

They probably do, kind of how they love referring to themselves as “job creators”.

OH! Yeah, no doubt. He’s totally up his own asshole and could think that… Or maybe he doesn’t care?

So, one again he’s being a narcissistic douche-nozzle injecting himself into a world event with empty bullshit.

I never saw a price-tag and he didn’t say free so I figured all he was doing was trying to sell something and was using the war in Ukraine as a backdrop for his advertisement.

ETA: Maybe I spoke too soon… but, we’ll see if it’s effective or will end up being garbage.

Dunno that might just be reserved for someone that turns up and actually helps.

I am pretty sure that Elon had two goals - free publicity and seeing fawning tweets calling him a hero.

Also it is not really needed since by all reports, internet access in Ukraine had not suffered any interruptions so far, meaning that it is still far superior that what most people in the US are even able to get!

From what I have to read though the Ukrainian minister of (technology? Development? Something) had been tweeting with Elon about this before the announcement, so maybe it serves some other purpose than actually providing service, like some kind of media/propaganda purpose for Ukraine to be associated with Musk

You gotta go with your strengths!

I prefer to frame it as Elon Musk’s Starlink enables child internet porn in Ukraine. Except it doesn’t work there so it doesn’t.

Edit: potentially enables.

I stand corrected.

The whole thread there has more info, including (Tesla) charging stations for EVs that are reportedly free.

Well, I’ll be damned. It looks like he finally got his magical submarine moment.

Allegedly

Based on what I have learned from listening to podcasts we are now completely protected from legal action

For me the really great thing about seeing this is not that Elon got his Starlinks there* but that they got there so quickly!

If logistics into Ukraine are good enough to get them there that quickly it makes me feel very good about the supply lines for food and munitions at this time!

*I still really question how useful they are given Ukraine’s very good existing wireless and wired infrastructure that seems to be holding up fine and the ease of triangulating and targeting their transmissions

Those ground stations will have a unique signature, easy to detect if the Russians are looking for them.

Park it on the other side of a small hill, and run a long cable to it.

Meanwhile…

Instead of being kept on a leash, he should be muzzled

Is he saying that he wasn’t competent enough to sign that agreement? The Board really needs to take a look at him continuing in his leadership position.

“I’m not at liberty to speak on these things,” the singer reportedly replied. “Whatever is going on with family stuff, I just feel like kids need to stay out of it, and [first Musk baby] X is just out there. I mean, I think E is really seeing him as a protégé and bringing him to everything and stuff.… X is out there. His situation is like that. But, yeah, I don’t know.”

Sensing her discomfort, Gordon writes that she tried to move on from the topic but then had to give up, remarking: “I can’t pretend I don’t know she’s got a secret baby with the world’s wealthiest man hiding upstairs.

And this is how you pronounce E
