So maybe the story there is that Musk wouldn’t stand up against the policy. But beyond that, well, Abbot saying something is as much evidence as nobody saying it.
According Abbot, so it might be full of shit. If so, I’m sure that Musk’s lawyers will be prompt in their denial.
I know exactly where that driver is in Seattle. One of the commenters noted it’s hard enough to drive there with full human intervention.
And also…
Because clearly a simple and reliable mechanical lever is for commoners.
The model 3 uses a simple enough handle that resembles the one on the model S. You just push on the edge of the handle and it see-saws open so you can pull on it, but sits flush when unused.
I drove a loaner S when my car was left for a few days at a detailing place. One of the employees walked me through on operating the S when he showed me the handle. I pushed it. Felt the action. Then I looked at the guy: “That handle.” to which the guy said, “Yep. I know.” A very flimsy cheapish affair. Out of sorts.
That’s not so bad. Still over-complicated but not to the level of the S and X.
In another “fuck Elon Musk” aside: Tesla model names were the Models S, X, Y, and 3 so the website could say “S3XY” because clearly he’s a big man child.
(He couldn’t use “Model E” because Jaguar already had the trademark on that.)
Musk is now to Texas as Werner Von Braun was to WWII Nazis.
Texas officials… bringing home the bacon with one hand — fucking up the home environment with the other.
and who needs another nazi besides Texass?
/s
no. no one, no place needs another nazi. no one.
the nazis have always been there. look, I was born in Austin, lived there my first 18 or so years… it was ever thus. can you say “systemic”? yeah, it is baked in and I am sorry to all y’all there trying to make a difference, I really am, but who am I kidding? I am in Florida, fighting a would-be fascist governor even now.
so, as always, stay classy Texass (I still love y’all)
To be clear, my comparison was based on WvB’s post-war distancing from the party he effectively supported.
granted.
understood.
my comment still stands, I have deep roots there, as I have mentioned many times.
I base my claims on lived experience.
“that’s all I have to say about that”
And he couldn’t come up with another word for the same concept without using the letter E? Mr. Burns would be so disappointed.
Can confirm. People are trying and have been since before I was born but when people talk about Austin like it’s a paradise completely free of the problems one might find in Dallas and Houston I just feel a dull ache in my head and heart because denial never fixes anything. In that context Musk feels like “welcome to the new boss. Just like the old boss but new.”
You know someone has way too much money when they publicly mock their largest customer.
