Obviously the details are not out yet, but I guarantee you that the children rescued in this were not being held by a stranger in a dank basement. They were being abused by relatives, teachers, coaches, and ministers that they knew and trusted, While they were going about their every day lives. That is what child sexual abuse really looks like in the real world and that gets over shadowed by the sensational stuff we always see in media and news.
Talk to your kids. Know who they are spending time with. Talk openly with them about what is appropriate and inappropriate behavior towards them. And for godās sake, fucking believe them when they bring something to you and go the the proper authorities to have it investigated. Persist when, inevitably, they try to blow you off, or sweep it under the rug.
