Oh wow. I didn’t realize all those older shows were so spin-off heavy! A lot of them I have seen, but didn’t realize they were spin-offs.
I actually thought it was more spin-offs than 7, but I think I got some other shows’ spin-offs mixed up with AitF’s.
Woah
As an extension, Golden Girls is one third spin off of AitF!
Mind blown.
And, to @ChuckV ’s point, I’m not sure how far the spin off family trees go, but I remember 227 fondly, and that was a spin off of the Jefferson’s, so kind of deserves a spot in the article, imho.
Good Times is a second order spin-off. A spin-off of a spin-off (Maude)
I would call 227 a degree-of-separation case, because Marla Gibbs played a different character. Still, there were cameos from former colleagues on many sitcoms:
The Jeffersons had a lot of links to other shows, too:

After the whole crime thing, I’m still getting my head around this opinion:
If they bring her IRL husband into it, so it’s Full House meets Shameless…I might watch that.
Again, whaaat? Lenny Kravitz’s mother played Helen Willis???
I’m now picturing one of those intricate posters people make about bands’ morphing, but for these tv shows.
I don’t think actors that were in sitcoms who get there own sitcoms are spinoffs.
227 had nothing to do with All In The Family or The Jefferson’s and Golden Girls had nothing to do with Maude.
That’s like saying Monk was a spinoff of Wings or Becker was a spinoff of Cheers.
They might not have their own show if it wasn’t for their original shows but that’s something else.
Monk was totally a spinoff of Wings, intentional or not. Antonio left Massachusetts for San Francisco to follow his true calling as a detective.
I love the idea of a Wings Cinematic Universe. I would watch all content within that intellectual property, as I did Monk.
Falling for Fall 2: Still falling. I love that title.
I just found out the actor playing recurring guest star Alex, Farrah Forke died this year.
Fuck Cancer!
Yeah, it’s child abuse. My phrasing may not have made that clear in a society where people routinely refer to adult women as “girls”.
