Big leads for both Dems so far, but apparently that’s mostly due to early voting, which favors Dems.

What about mail-in voting? IIRC, in the General election, early votes favored Warnock/Ossoff, Election Day results swung back the other way, but mail-in voting came back to the Dems. Perdue was just over 50% until the mail-in ballots were all counted, and he dropped below the runoff avoidance threshold.

Just hate how these elections play out. Big leads that then shrink and shrink as more vote comes in. Aaargh!

i heard that they changed the law so that, now, they were able to open the mail in ballots early. so, they should be tallied pretty quickly this time. not sure if necessarily today, but much faster than the first go round.

hmmm… opening millions of envelopes has got to be no fun. boston dynamics could have made some decent money if they’d made their robots do more than dance. :slight_smile:

Aw crap starting to look that way. Fingers crossed.

ETA: Neck-and-neck at the moment but some good news is that some of the most populous remaining counties to be counted are part of the Atlanta metro area which tends to go Democrat.

The NY Times Needle (which incidentally called Georgia correctly remarkably early on in the presidential race) has Warnock and Ossoff as clear favorites with 80% reporting.

Dekalb County will report a ton of votes shortly- they apparently don’t usually report out the mail in/early votes till 11-12. Other counties reported earlier.

A lot of votes - and overwhelmingly Dem. Still looking promising!

They’ve got more votes to count. It is basically built into the structure of having votes reported by county that democratic areas are going to take longer to count their votes.
