Garage sale displeases neighbor

I had hillbilly neighbors once. The Cowboy Junkies wrote a song about them.

I ran into a former barber who worked at the Pine St Barber Shop not long ago and we reminisced about the 'hood. Good times.

Billy would have been accepted there.

NOOO! It’s ‘Thirty Thousandaire’!

Giving hillbillies everywhere a bad name…hillbillies are supposed to annoy you, not the other way around!

Billie needs to work on the accent. Pick a REAL dialect, not Beverly Hillbilly. I vote Fake. Nnnexxt.

But even fake rednecks can be funny.
Freedom of speech, man

The best kind of word, right? I think my grandmother might’ve been fond of it. I’ve heard it all my life and have no idea where it comes from… but quite possibly Walt Kelly, I guess.

Post the link?

I had a neighbour break into my flat when I was on holiday. Another one stole my bike the minute I went up to fetch something I had forgotten. Had a fight with a third one who went home every night and banged on the walls while laughing hysterically and finally, had a neonazi who listened to Goebbels speeches in the middle of the night, at full volume. That one destroyed one of my Mac Pros because one of his self-built bathing appliances leaked throught the roof into my working room. Of course, the costs where on me as he his on social money. So yeah, there are worse neighbours.

It sounded real enough to me that I thought it was Arlington (see above), or elsewhere in Texas, but Arlington just scores higher in assholery.

When all of this is said and done people won’t talk about what Reagan did to the population with mental health issues … people will talk about what youtube did to them.

Yep. Looks like Mesa to me, too.

All these videos are probably fake, yea. But that accent is real. It’s hick - spoken by people all over. We have a good friend who is from northern Indiana, someone my wife grew up with. Her dad talks exactly like this. And he’s a major asshole. I’ve met people in Bakersfield who talk like that as well. It’s almost like an affectation - someone trying to be “country”.

I believe this is real. Billy appears mentally ill, and frequently impaired. The woman filming is pushing her buttons to make these videos.

And it’s definitely possible to get out of the back of a police car from the inside, depending on the car. I have personal experience with this. Ahem

It’s very sad, really, and rather mean.

If it’s actually (real) which I’m leaning towards nah, it is mean, bullying behavior on the part of the person putting up the videos.

I hope it’s staged. If so, it’s impressive work.

Have to agree with you there. I picked up on it the instant she opened her mouth. The accent is cartoonish at best, as are many of her mannerisms. Billy is a caricature of some of the folks I grew up with.

Define real. Billy is clearly putting on a show but not for the youtube audience. She is far too reckless with her own well being for her not to be seriously mentally compromised. She seems like the sort of person that would be muttering on the street in a big city to invisible people. At least the poster gives her someone real to vilify and have real interactions with.

Billy sounds like some unstable version of Sandy Cheeks, the squirrel from Spongebob.

it’s like when you want to start a garden fire and someone decides they have laundry to hang out…

Looks fake, fake, fake to me. Like she’s doing a “hilarious” character.
