Generic 2016 US Election Cycle Recycling Bin

D’oh! Forgot that the European distribution was titled that. Yep, that one. Played the hell out of it in its day and some years thereafter.

So for lack of a better place to put this, I mocked this tweet:

To be fair, turning off CNN is pretty good advice for everyone.

All cable news is a horror show, in part by virtue of the medium. I do think the people railing at others to stop tuning into CNN, would offer Breitbart, Drudge Report, and Fox as alternatives for reliable news and information.

I just want to say that I’m really, really tired of Hillary giving Donald Trump so much free publicity.

Hill… this isn’t helping. Honestly.

Does anyone else kind of miss Ted Cruz being in the race, even if they don’t exactly miss Ted himself?

Should have picked Bernie.

Edward Snowden did this country a great service. Let him come home

(admittedly, the headline comes from Susan Sarandon, although they’re trying to suggest it’s what Sanders said)

There’s something unpleasantly…intestinal… about that diagram. Very apt.

Instant fact-check: Trump is not a hedgehog.

Possible explanations for this tweet:

  • Newt has been hanging out with Sarah Palin
  • Newt has started smoking flakka
  • Actually, that’s all I’ve got right now

Newt loves to play “intellectual former professor” to give a false veneer of seriousness to the degraded mass of moral and intellectual failure that he’s lived out. The Fox/Hedgehog is an reference to Isaiah Berlin’s essay, describing two types of intellectuals, those who think broadly (foxes) and those who have one big idea they apply to everything (hedgehogs). To suggest a scatter-brained, barely literate con-man like Trump is a hedgehog or a fox is to insult human rationality itself.
