Generic 2016 US Election Cycle Recycling Bin

I want him to not fuck up the country but I do want him to fail at destroying social security, medicare and having a general fire sale for all our commons.

He is already doing things. Stop trying to tell people theyā€™re protesting in the wrong way. Most protesters are peaceful, some people just want to break stuff, and yes, theyā€™re causing problems for the others. But if everybody just hangs out in a park out of the way, nobody else is going to care.

And if you are someone who is going to be extra vulnerable once Trump takes over, and you see that nobody is raising any hell at all . . . how does that feel? That is the other reason for protest.

Youā€™ll have to come to my house in Delaware if you want to see what I do. But you are welcome to do so, honestly.

This video shows how I felt when I saw everyone elseā€™s rage after the election. The last 20 seconds is golden, but the whole thing is channeling my rage, my feelings about how liberal America failed my children, and elected President Trump. bOINGbOING alone is almost certainly the source of thousands of Trump votes, and this isnā€™t the only site that contributed materially.

I didnā€™t mean literally, as Iā€™m sure you must be aware.

Thanks for the invite, but rest assured Iā€™ll probably never take you up on it, and not just because of the physical distance.

Lastly, Iā€™m not getting caught up in the blame game; thatā€™s an exercise in futility, and I refuse to play.

There you go, yet again, Marcia, and that, in a nutshell, is why I have no interest whatsoever in a ā€˜face to face.ā€™

I canā€™t even, so you have a good day.

So protest them. Donā€™t protest the outcome of a vote.

No. I am Cassandra, I can see the future. And Iā€™ve held off since the election, with the exception of playing defense for the Greens, while everyone else ranted and raved and threw blame on everyone but themselves. You all got your rage in, thereā€™s hundreds of posts and entire threads about how horrible you feel and how itā€™s all everybody elseā€™s fault. I want my say too.

Telling people like me to shut up, when we told you what you were doing that was stupid and counterproductive, is how we got where we are now. At some point people need to hear the truth, as in the video I posted directly above.

Good night everyone, pā€™raps more tomorrow.

Pretty sure thatā€™s not so much a near certainty as a wild fantasy.

Sentiment reflected; and I started to reply before remembering that I was supposed to be bowing out.

My internal alarm bells are now ringing.

I still donā€™t understand how youā€™ve come to the conclusion that everyone on the streets is protesting the outcome of the election as some ideological concept. Theyā€™re protesting Trumpā€™s stated policy agenda and the nationwide torrent of racist sexist bullshit that his election unleashed. But even then, their right to protest against the fact that a fascist has been elected to the nationā€™s highest office is no less legitimate a form of outcry than protesting against tax policy. Itā€™s the only way people have to register their displeasure with the result and emphasize that Trump does not have a mandate to implement his agenda unobstructed.

How does a protest against Steve Bannon being named Trumpā€™s Chief Strategist look any different than an ā€œoutcomeā€ protest? How does a protest against Trumpā€™s stated policy of ā€œIā€™m going to deport 11 million peopleā€ look any different than an ā€œoutcomeā€ protest? Your implication that we should give this guy any breathing room while we wait for his last 18 months of horrific white nationalism to get mainstreamed during this (terrifyingly expedited) transition process is completely dumbfounding.

Besides, if theyā€™re going to firebomb us for utterly manufactured reasons anyway, why should we care?

Well, the more internal strife and the less competent that fascist is with his administration, the happier I am, really. Canā€™t say the Rob Ford levels of bumble-fuckery are a surprise given the parallels.
