I’m just talking US at the moment, but yeah, there’s a lot of overlap and fuzziness around the edges. Moreso if you’re grouping things by general principles rather than ethnic/cultural origin.
I think I was originally going to throw in some related statistics and sources on the numbers you quoted for the makeup of congress vs the US population, but I got sidetracked.

Well just for the sake of completeness, my source was the Pew Research Center. They conduct a survey of every new Congress every two years.
