OMG, the Liberal Redneck himself, Trae Crowder, is making cooking videos.
That’s a good carbonara…
Interesting. I hike a bunch in the region, I keep an eye out for edible plants, but that was never on my radar. I’ve a feeling I’ve seen it, but can’t remember where.
I love foraging. What kind of edibles do you see on your hikes?
In my vicinity, mulberries, black walnuts, butternuts, beech nuts, autumn olive, jewelweed, mint, raspberries/blackberries/wine, cherries (some acceptable to polite society, some with tannins like a mule kick), redbud, wild ginger, mayapple, grapes (mainly with mule kick quality tannins), ground cherry and pawpaw. I’m sure there’s others, but those come to mind.
ETA: what do you forage for?
I recently got rid of all my plastic (microplastic in food) and bamboo
(dull knife maker) and giving these from Epicurean a try. It is more wood-like (paper?) and easy to clean. I have a big butcher block I use every day. But sometimes a smaller board is easier.
Is it Soda or is it Pop?

…if you’ve got all day, lol (some NSFW)
It’s coke…
I’ve been unable to convince people in New Jersey that the following is a common and normal conversation in Texas:
Friend: Hey, can I get you something to drink? A coke or tea?
Me: Sure, a coke sounds good.
Friend: Ok, what kind?
Me: Um, do you have Sprite?
Friend: I do!
Me: Great, I’ll have a Sprite.
Wait… is Texas inside or outside the sweet tea line?
Yes. It depends where in Texas you are. West and North Texas…no sweet tea. East and South Texas…both are common. I grew up in the unsweetened part of the state.
South Texas is, apparently, debatable.
Wait…there’s something edible about redbud?
Sweet tea is blasphemy.
Hey, I’m consistent, at least. I also only drink black coffee. I do not like my brewed caffeinated beverages adulterated with sugar, milk, or cream.
