How people react when they think video of the real Lauren Boebert is an SNL skit

Hasn’t been funny since he sported a mullet

Granted, she does streaming sometimes, like when she played Among Us with the common folks to raise awareness and money for charity. How frivolous!

I think some of the crazy is intended to be a loyalty test. It’s a tool Trump uses a lot and it seems to work pretty well.

LIVE puppies. She said “… live puppies”. She was quite clear about that.

I have no idea why she’d want to eat live puppies, but she did pretty much confess.

As a member of several of the groups on which the Trumpians have painted a huge target I can unequivocally tell you that the are not the same. Now this doesn’t mean the Democrats are my friends, far from it, but “they don’t actually do much to help me” is very much not the same as “they are actively seeking to harm me.”

Every Qanon accusation is a confession.

Every. Single. One.

OR they’re actually proud of it.

I personally know a woman who has a “Damn Right I’m Deplorable!” bumper sticker. She is easily one of the nastiest, most cruel and vicious right-wingers you’ll ever encounter. A real piece a’ work, as they say.

Oh yeah, totally - that’s especially true of a lot of other Republican politicians, almost all of whom have decided they need to act that way, post-Trump. Boebert stands out in that a significant portion of the crazy is genuine for her. Also the idiocy.

Crazy as a loyalty test is true of all cults and totalitarian regimes. If the things you require people do and say are reasonable common-sense things, then how can you know if they’re just saying it because it’s true?

If you make them say barking mad nonsense, and they say it with evident sincerity, then you know you can make them dance. And be sure, every so often, to change what you make them say, so you can be sure they’re doing it from active obedience, and not just habit.

It’s Conan’s Riddle of Steel.
