So if we were to look through your entire written history of political commentary, do you think we would find any instances at all of you applying the “shrill” label to a male speaker? Because I have literally never once heard that adjective used to criticize a man. It’s the “uppity” of gendered insults.
Anyone here enjoying their Oculus?
I wonder a lot to myself lately how much damage the “reactionary” GOP has done, in dollars, over the past 40 years. I figure with the endless wars, reckless deregulation, brutal austerity, toxic culture, obstruction and hate legislation, it has to be well up into the trillions by now. I can trace just about every problem in my family right now to something Republicans did at one level or another. Right now it is just by chance that I can afford medicine I absolutely need to live, and thanks to them there is nothing stopping that from changing. With the Democrats moving rightward, I feel very alone and afraid.
That article does a great job of encapsulating why this is the most hilarious and also terrifying election, much like the shitstorm that erupted around pepes.
I understand that you’ve been trained by social media and TV to discard logic when faced with even the most minute disagreement, but that is not what I said.
What’s the alternative to liberals?
Our candidate objectively is more humble than trump. Seriously.
“I think I’m much more humble than you would understand.”

The Mexicans will build a wall, and they will pay for it, and it will keep out economic immigrants - but they won’t be Mexican immigrants. Make America great again! … pfff.
Do you believe that the Drone Warfare policy of the Obama administration? Do you agree with the current policy in the Levant?
Why do you assume that all conservatives agree with those things?
I can go through your list and check-off everything, but that was never my point. If I am to believe that I have all the answers and have the ‘correct’ beliefs, that does not make me better than anyone. My actions define my character, not my beliefs.
Believe that what?
Because the last conservative in office kicked off those policies with wide support from his party and base.
I don’t understand, the republicans are the party of authoritarianism. Their leadership heirarchy is nearly buckling under the stress of trying to keep all their members directly in line behind trump so they can at least appear to be supporting him.
The word does tend to be used to describe any woman with the temerity to raise her voice, but that doesn’t mean that it doesn’t apply to any women at all. I’d reserve it for the likes of Fran Drescher and Rosie Perez though. Clinton’s public speaking voice is shouty but it isn’t screechy.
The last conservative in office was George HW Bush, although he was regrettably willing to pander to reactionary loons even then.
The modern Republican party is not conservative. It’s a reactionary and authoritarian white nationalist party, transitioning to fascism.
Whatever. I don’t see much difference except for degree between Nixon and now.
Nixon was a racist conservative war criminal with authoritarian tendencies.
But racism was a facet of his personality rather than the core of it. And he opened relations with China and established the EPA.
It’s gotten a lot worse since then.
Fair point.
Very persuasive but I’m still not voting for him.
As far as foreign policy is concerned, there isn’t much difference in Obama and Bush. Or Clinton, if her years as Secretary of State is any measure. And most of Democrat legislators, including Clinton, had no problem voting for policies. Joe Biden takes credit for the Patriot Act, since he had drafted a very similar bill in the 90s. Obama had no problem renewing it. What about NSA data collection? Back scatter x-rays in airports? The erosion of civil liberties has only accelerated since Bush. Which is the authoritarian party?
Again, though, that is not my point. Just knowing these things about the Federal Administration, and my disapproval of them on these, does not make me a better person. The writer of the article seems to believe otherwise.
You do understand that by posting this, you provide me an example to make my point?
You missed his.
Christ, what a shitlord. I was already going to buy a Vive (when I happen to have a spare $1600 laying around for a new PC and VR hardware, hahaha ha) because of Facebook sinking their tendrils into the Oculus, but this just takes it to a whole 'nother level of “I will never ever support this man”.
