Which memo? Yesterday’s bizarro “don’t believe anonymous sources” memo, or the fire Comey memo?
Because now that Mueller is officially investigating Trump for obstruction wrt Comey’s firing, Rosenstein’s participation in that means he has to recuse.
Does bullshitting require the bullshitter to know he or she is doing it? Because I’m inclined to vote against Trump being a bullshitter and for being delusional.
This has been my reddit go to:
This one via that subreddit seems pertinent:
Drumpf is literally incapable of telling the truth. In every situation, he figures what the truth is, and then he lies. The creature has spent its entire life lying. It made all its money by lying. Lying is what it knows best - indeed, lying is the ONLY thing it knows. From childhood it learned that lying is the way to get what it wants, and the leopard doesn’t change its soiled underpants. Drumpf will ALWAYS lie even when the truth would save it, because it literally doesn’t know how to speak without lying.
Like 99.999% of them.
Or a David Lynch movie.
What we have now is a giant flailing incompetent Bull in the China Shop.
He is completely unaware of what he is unaware of, after a lifetime of being isolated from the need for competency by his daddy’s money, he came to the delusional belief that his world would work the same way wherever he found himself.
The problem is that any of the reasons that the GOP can use to get rid of him will inevitably take down a range of other players. They could offer him a sweet deal to walk, but he won’t take up anything that will paint him as a “loser”. Be sure he has the goods on all the GOP power players, he literally has them all by the balls, their only safe path to continually prop him up.
This is great, thanks for posting.
I’m pretty sure Rosenstein did that purposefully.
the fire comey memo
He’s simply pumping out another bulletpoint for the hivemind (and Fox) to incorporate into their daily narrative.
The more we indignantly attend to every daily outrage, the more we lose focus on: the attack by Russia on the US electoral process; the investigation into this attack; his disastrous domestic policy; his disastrous foreign policy; his nepotism; his incompetent and/or venal appointees; [fill-in].
So is anyone working on writing Twenty Seventeen: A Spiritual Sequel to Nineteen Eighty-Four, or would that be too depressing?
Trump is just constantly bullshitting. It never stops. It means nothing beyond the passing moment of anxiety it subdues or the vindication it generates.
I think this is what he means when he calls himself a “great negotiator.” He means he’ll say anything, make any claim, use any perceived advantage in whatever argument he is in at the moment with no regard for strategy, consistency with previous statements he’s made, or factual reality in general.
"Here comes the story of 45,
The man the authorities tried to blame,
For something that he never done,
Put in a jail cell…
An worn taahm,
He couldda beeyan,
the champeyun a the woooorld!"
The image of “…sitting like Buddha an a 10 foot cell…” has never made me smile. Until now.
No.
Just as the bullshitter doesn’t care about the truth or falsity of their statements, they need not care about such self-knowledge. Whether or not the bullshitter themselves believes their statement (implying delusion) or not (conscious deception) is irrelevant.
Is he not just laying the foundations for firing Rosenstein?
If Trump can’t fire Mueller and Rosenstein won’t, then Rosenstein has to go to make way for someone who will.
Please don’t dehumanize him by using “it”.
That is a great point, and is also the absolute worst outcome of 60 million voters choosing someone so clearly disastrous and incompetent to occupy the oval office. The clusterfucks in Congress will always be with us, but the long term consequences of a SC filled with mini-Scalias is too horrible to contemplate.
