Indictments are getting to Donald Trump, as he cowardly cancels two events in one day

While no-one dislikes the ORange Menace more than I do, I don’t see why he would want to debate. He’s going to win the nomination, why would he want to spend time trying to pretend that its something to be debated.

And he’s losing hair by the handful. That’s why his combover looks weirder than normal and why he told Fox to use prettier pictures of him.
He can still scream like a crazy person, but he looks like crap.

He won’t be able to duck his court appearances, but mark my words he will show up in a wheelchair with a neck brace and a leg and/or arm in a splint

Hopefully, Trump’s campaign funds will go to Civil Forfeiture, along with his tawdry baubles.

I’m going to predict a case of “Preformative Alzheimer”; a favourite of wealthy shits facing any kind of consequences.

Why go to the debates when he already is leading by so much? He only has things to lose there. Instead he’s going on Tucker Carlson’s twitter show.

It will be interesting to see if he tries anything like that because Trump has always been at least as invested in appearing “strong” as he is in evading accountability for his actions. It’s very, very important to him that his followers continue to think he’s a “stable genius.” So even if his lawyers convinced him to play the enfeebled old man card I don’t think he’d be able to keep it up.

It’s like “friendly,” there just isn’t an adverbal form. You just have to rewrite the sentence. “In his typically cowardly fashion, Trump…

… we will just have to get everybody to say “cowardy” for the adjective

Oooo! Use the douchey-est of his NFTs – like, the cowboy one – as the cardboard cutout. “oh, you’re mad, Donald, that we’re using one of your NFTs without paying for it? So sue me. Oh that’s right… you’re too busy with other legal matters.”

Well, I definitely use friendlily and cowardlily, albeit silily.

Dictionaries like Merriam-webster give cowardly as both the adjective and adverb. Likewise for friendly. So charlesj was wrong, you can use the word however you want.

And we know that he has problems with chickens.

‘Cravenly’ was suggested as an acceptable alternative, that’d work for me.

Weird. For both cowardly and friendly, they give examples for the adjective, but not the adverb. They simply state it can be, without explanation, and actually describe it in an adjectival form (“in a cowardly manner,” and “amicably,” respectively.

It sounds very weird to me, especially “friendly.” “He ran very quickly” vs “he ran very friendly.”

But yes, of course you can you all sorts of words however you like. “The question is which is to be the master,” and all that.

We changed cringe from a verb to an adjective! There is nothing we cannot do!!!

(I leave whether we should have or not as an exercise for the reader)

ETA: And regarding the topic, there is no incentive for him to be in the debates. He is so far out ahead for the GQP nomination that it would not help him and it has the opportunity to hurt him. There is no benefit to him from showing up, since his base will buy into whatever reason he makes up for not going. This also lets him avoid having to deal with the debate loyalty pledge if he doesn’t get the nomination, while ensuring that everyone that does participate in the debates will have to support him down the line.
