Interesting shirt from this weekend's Trump rally

But what about the “Muslim from Africa” checkbox on Obama’s birth certificate?

Transgender is the new gay as far as conservatives are concerned. Only trans is like, super-gay.

My operating assumption is that trans rights have gained enough of a foothold in the past several years that it makes us enough of a “threat” to be a real target.

Yes I am. I’m heavily involved in WolfPAC and other groups, and regularly meet with my state representatives. They’re probably sick of hearing from me by now, and if you give a damn about what’s happening to this country, yours are sick of hearing from you too.

Well, yes and no. I can’t help being outraged on the internet, or in meatspace either, because this country just went tits up. It was actually tits up long before November 8th, but nobody listened to me then, and now that Donald Trump is President * maybe people will start listening… ahaha no they won’t.

Being outraged on the internet and in meatspace and anywhere is the only way people will know that shit got real, and the outrage is real, and if we don’t all start fighting back like our lives literally depend on it** people will just sit on their asses and continue doing absolutely dick. There is no room for fake even-handedness anymore, assuming there ever was. We have to act. We have to do shit or else shit won’t get done.

@boundegar and @incarnedine_v: Do you seriously want to know what I am doing, or are you just throwing ad-hominems? Do you think I’m a Millennial trustafarian sitting in his mama’s basement? I’m a middle-aged man with not much hair and even less patience, and I’ve got a job to go to and bills to pay, and I shouldn’t have to do anything except sit on the couch with a beer after work, but I stay politically active because I literally have no other choice. I’m tired of it, it’s fucking exhausting, but I have to do it. We all have to do it.

Also, are you really against the idea of a Democratic/left-wing Tea Party? If so, why?!? Not a rhetorical question.

*Let that phrase sink in. Should those words be anything other than a gross non-sequitur?

**They do. How’s your water supply? Do you have good insurance? I hope you don’t live near the coasts…

Judging from Twitter, conservatives are blazing angry about “scientists telling us there are 52” (or sometimes 91) “genders.”

Do you really think that #45 supporter would acknowledge that kind of logic?

well the number of votes for Republicans hasn’t increased dramatically since 2004, in fact there has not been any change in the way Republicans vote, suggesting that they will toe the party line no matter who sits in the big room.

Democratic votes however fell almost double since Obama was elected, suggesting that maybe it’s not that Trump was popular but that Hillery was really unpopular within her own party.

I literally did not go six years on this planet before meeting someone who was congenitally gender ambiguous. I have no idea why the existence of intersex people seems to blow people’s minds.

The Democratic party needs to get their act together, as usual. I’m not seeing it. Parties don’t lead, they follow.

You mean it takes something more than just voting every four years and throwing smug ad-hominems?

This has never been about logic. For them it’s about preventing anyone, other than white, heterosexual men from enjoying the " privilege" of life, liberty and the pursuit of happiness. A black man as president? That just emboldens them. A woman for president? Are you kidding me? Next thing you know women will be out there expecting the same rights as white men and we can’t have that. That’s why they love the 45- he represents everything they hold dear, including apparently his extremely wobbly grasp of the English language. Of course, with those hands it’s probably hard to grasp anything…

I hereby confer upon you, all the likes the internet has to give.

Seriously, thank you. I, and many of my friends have stepped up by keeping in touch with our reps, contributing to causes that fight the good fight, and some even running for office (I hold an elected office in my town. It’s just on the planning board, but I believe strongly that the built environment has a powerful effect on human behavior, and this is my (very) small way of trying to make the future more positive for those that come after us.)

@Boundegar and @incarnedine_v: individual recycling efforts are miniscule relative to the environment challeges we face, and yet many of us still recycle because we believe that change begins with action and we must do our part. Political action is no different. If you recycle, then you already understand this concept. Get involved.

And apparently intersexed people too.

There’s certainly a hat & haircut combo choice and this guy blew it.

what baffles me is, did he make it himself? or did he BUY it, meaning someone else printed a bunch and is probably selling enough to make the endeavor worthwhile.

If you listen to enough Bernie Bros, they’ll say that we have to get rid of the Democratic Party and start a new Socialist Party.

Pretty sure his story would change if someone provided him a copy of their birth cert that had been changed after transitioning.

This is factually incorrect, as is his shirt. Even if you set aside the transgender issue, there are more than two ways your birth genitalia can be configured, as well as multiple ways your chromosomes can be something other than simply XY or XX.

I liked this as hard as I could. I too am exhausted after work, and still have my second unpaid job, which is opposing the Trumpian fascist agenda.

And I really don’t know how to fix the Democratic Party, which failed miserably. The Democratic Party enjoyed a short term advantage by embracing neoliberal policies in exchange for large donations. However the long term disadvantage is that we are aware that their betrayal has made our lives harder.
