Can you please point out what part of the resolution says that?
It seems to be saying, “Hey, this place is of cultural significance to Islam as well, so you have to be more careful about your restoration/archaeological efforts.”
Decision 39 COM 7A.27 is as much notable for what it claims as for what it does not mention. Note that all the language of this Decision refers to the area in question by Arabic names and site designations only.
Note also that this is best seen as part of an ongoing issue where on the one hand you have multinational teams of archaeologists who do follow the standards of their profession and on the other the Waqf and its construction projects which have been clearly demonstrated to have literally trashed artifacts known to be of the Second Temple era from under the Temple Mount.
This goes hand in hand with propaganda efforts on the part of the Waqf and certain Arab groups in the area to deny that there ever was a Temple there in the first place.
Another time I’d be happy to do links to all the above but its 430AM here and I’m a bit exhausted. If you want you have enough there to google.
