Just finished watching. Enraging. Deplorable and reprehensible. That is all.
democracy in action:
( eta: eep! meant more as a general reply not to you specifically bluehenbear. )
( eeta: it seems to be available via msnbc without creating a google account. )
This jackass doesnāt deserve a medal.
Hey, give him a break. The guy has his (delusional, absolutely non-existent) political future to consider:

(/s, if it isnāt obvious)
I see the opposite happening. More business Republicans are seeing who the fascists really are.
The problem is, that it turns out there are very few institutionalist Republicans, after all.
45 mins ago or so, CNN posted this yoot00b vid:
The jury didnāt deliberate very long!!!
The pretty much last ever image I wanna see of the semi-sentient pile of filthy, wrinkled laundry will be after its prison haircut! I do wanna see it testify, tho.
[Wonderful, gorgeous artist who sat behind me in my HS anthropology class looked just like Clark Kent. Hair, glasses, face, height, and he was nicely muscular. He was also V weird, despite his preppy AF exterior: his name was Edward, but he always put Eadweard on all his schoolwork b/c Muybridge. He also loved my purple hair when I had it dyed.]
Just now had the chance to watch the latest hearing.
I hate to admit it, but Kinzinger is actually a good orator.
He made his points succinctly and emphatically, weaving together a cogent narrative that was both engaging and still simple enough for everyone to follow.
That said:
HEāS NO HERO, AND NEITHER IS MIKE PENCE.
Doing your damn job and upholding your oath even in the face of the fuckery that you helped create is NOT a sign of āhonor or courage.ā
Unfuck all those complicit muthafuckas who were cool with every horrible thing 45 did, right up until the very last moment when they finally realized that the leopard was about to start eating their faces, tooā¦
Perhaps Pence should be nominated for the Presidential Medal of Minimal Adequacy.
I hope when SNL comes back on, they do a thing with thatā¦
Right?
I suppose itās great that this panel is bipartisan, but I canāt help but suspect the Republicans on it are setting themselves up as The Reaonable Republicans. The ones who can ācarry our broken party forwardā once Trumpism is vanquished, etc, all while serving up pretty much the same old ruinous Conservative Slop.
I suppose in the big zoom-out, having even more evidence like the kind that these missing texts would provide are merely more grist for the justice mill.
I confess I am not feeling super optimistic that former guy is going to be convicted and sent to prison, no matter how much fkn evidence is piled before the complicit Cult45 enablers in Congress.
Hereās hoping.
Itās no longer up to them. Itās up to the DoJ, then DC judges and jurors. So far, thereās been no sign of leniency from any of the above for the insurrectionists. Now weāll see if that holds true for the planners.
Despite the clip clearly showing the Republican lawmaker on the run, nearly 24 hours later, he pledged to a group of young conservative activists that he would not ārunā away from a battle.
āHey, listen, I know what Iām talking about because I had them do it to me,ā he proudly declared at Turning Point USAās summer conference in Tampa, Florida, on Friday evening, referring to being called a ātraitorā over pushing for āelection integrity.ā āI objected on Jan. 6 last year to the state of Pennsylvania,ā he boasted.
āAnd I just want to say to all of those liberals out there and the liberal media, just in case you havenāt gotten the message yet, I do not regret it,ā Hawley continued. āAnd I am not backing down. Iām not gonna apologize, Iām not gonna cower, Iām not gonna run from you.ā
