Objectively, she’s correct. The continuation of supplemental unemployment benefits is under gubernatorial control. They have absolutely no obligation to re-up any of that. I mean… they’re objectively STUPID not to, but we ARE talking about GOP governors here…
Yeah. Governors have (IMHO) an insane amount of power at the state level. Like, more than the President does at the national level in terms of moving or thwarting agendas, at least that’s how it seems to play out. Here (in Maine) we had several initiatives that got higher voter support than the governor himself had gotten, and he kept vetoing them. We have someone more publicly-minded in office now, and it’s like a breath of fresh air.

Yes, the governor of Arizona is a shitty human. Unfortunately, Arizona is also a cesspool of any mixture of gun nuts, right wing whackaloons, tracked-out wanna-be Jokers who want to see the world burn, and QOP arsenuggets, who manage to out-vote the remaining reasonable people in the state.
