Can’t stand other people doing your schtick?
“I think “Gotcha!” pics of people with others who turn out to be scummy is cheap and crappy tactic.” is not vague. It was cheap and crappy when Republicans did it to Obama and Clinton and it’s crappy when Dems do it to Republicans with the Dugger bunch.
As far as the full and complete dissection of all my beliefs (with dozens waiting with knives drawn to join in the pileon), I rather doubt this is the best place.
And "hill you want to die on…what does that even mean? Take a deep breath, it’s only a web forum.
Oh I think I’m far more accepting of others’ viewpoints than you.
But you are quite good at zings and clever insults and put-downs, so that’s probably more fun for you. Enjoy!
We would probably disagree about the minutiae of the answers… but I would like to thank jansob1 for raising important questions about how far a politician should be linked to the good or bad actions of the individuals whom he or she is seen with.
They told their church, which told him that Jesus forgives him. It also told the girls that they should ask for forgiveness. Any real law enforcement, no. Levels of adults were complacent.
wherein the author argues that semantics matter, and then proceeds to twist, alter and otherwise distort semantics in order to arrive at a point. Fuck that.
I honestly don’t give a shit and it astounds me that you give these many shits about these awful, terrible people.
All this post really is pointing out in a humorous, sardonic way is that TERRIBLE PEOPLE HANG OUT WITH TERRIBLE PEOPLE. It is generally the way of our world. I do not know why this observation offends you so, but it is a reality. And I assure you, these terribly rich and terribly awful politicians will be fine. So will Josh Duggar, who has the distinct luck of being born a white male in a culture that REALLY values white males even more so than the greater culture (which values white males a LOT as it is). So much that he’s basically invincible and can literally rape his own sisters and get away with it. He is forgiven of all his sins. The victims he molested, however, are asked hey, maybe you did something to cause your own brother to molest you?
That’s the reality.
And you’re going on about some shitty politicians who happened to shake hands with another shitty person.
The Devil has plenty of advocates, man. Go ahead and join them. I’d rather not. There are actual victims that deserve attention. Not these pieces of shit.
I feel 100% okay with my stance about these people and this subject.
See, I took it completely differently. This is just an example of a really shitty person associating with other shitty people. This is the way of our fucking world, and our politics. Shitty rich mostly white people canoodling together and smiling big for the camera. It’s just an other day in America.
Oh, I think it can be a perfectly valid critique.
These candidates are raising, and spending, millions of dollars to cultivate an image. Let’s pick on Huckabee, who can drop a quarter-mil a year just on first-class flights, and who’s now staging an aggressive fundraising campaign after Fox News has taught him how to stop worrying and love the money.
Campaign money ought to be spent on competent PR staff and background checks to identify brands they want to court and brands they want to distance themselves from.
The Family Research Council is not some obscure entity. It’s a PAC that raised $13 mil in 2011, on a largely anti-gay platform. So anti-gay, that the Southern Poverty Law Center classified FRC as a hate group.
For any given politician pictured in the OP, either their campaign is too incompetent to distance themselves from these bigots, or they are unwilling to distance themselves from these bigots. I do not suspect coincidence is to blame, I suspect the reason why the current slate of Republican front-runners all fell to the same blunder is the dated vision of liberty they have in common.
If you want to persist on the merits of smearing, we can look at this position statement from the FRC
“One of the primary goals of the homosexual rights movement is to abolish all age of consent laws and to eventually recognize pedophiles as the ‘prophets’ of a new sexual order.”
—1999 FRC publication, “Homosexual Behavior and Pedophilia,” Robert Knight and Frank York
Seems that’s a pretty clear attempt to smear people who don’t identify as hetero as being non-consensual rape-creeps. And yet, here’s one of their leaders, Josh Duggard, being a non-consensual rape-creep of the hetero-identifying variety.
I hope you can now see why folks might find your defense of “Gotcha! pics” to be a little threadbare.
