Would that Japanese supermarket happen to be Mitsua Marketplace?
I see now that what I typed quickly came off as sarcastic and accusatory. That was not my intent (or at least I don’t think it was my intent, perhaps I was subconsciously a bit peeved at his/her tone.)
I offered an idea, @MalevolentPixy pointed out the flaws, I conceded my idea was flawed (I even upvoted his/her comment as a sign of good faith.) But such a curt response comes off snarky. I apologize.
No, I don’t. Perhaps I should have phrased it as “if anyone has any ideas, I’m interested.” My original idea of just handing out tickets and letting the courts deal with it was admittedly born out of frustration and vengeance (and can you blame me, morons control our lives.) Maybe there is no solution, but I still need to think there is one just so I can get up out of bed every morning.
Just waiting for these clowns to attack folks for wearing masks in public. Seriously, they’re just one step away from a Florida Man/Woman byline.
Let’s start with don’t make a bad situation worse.
(I am one of those disabled people who has had people question my disabilities.)
Atelophobia? Catagelophobia? </s>
(Horse has left the barn on that last one)
Angry guy threatened me in traffic. I hang my mask of the day from the rearview mirror when I’m driving. He pulled up to my rear bumper, rilled down his window and screamed at me about how stupid I was to believe in that virus and mask bullshit and how he’d rip that mask off me if he had the chance. So, I carry pepper spray now when I do venture out.
Gonna wish he had a mask after that one…
Are you serious? WTAF is WRONG with these people? I’m sorry that happened to you and I’m glad it did not escalate further.
Anencephaly.
I heard that Cornavirus can make it hard to breathe. maybe she has that?? (shrug) /s
She has forbidden her self
Debra is Karen’s mother; Becky is Karen’s sister. (per my daughter, who spends much time on social media)
Apparently, Amy Poehler thinks so!
I for one welcome our new overlords.
Ding Ding! The Mitsuwa in Costa Mesa is really big, and is limiting to 20 customers. Everything’s really clean, workers are PPE’d up, and there are well marked “social distancing” marks both inside and out.
I do think there’s a bit of a cultural aspect to this, I mean, it wasn’t unusual to see some Asian person there, before any pandemic concerns, wearing a mask in public, so there’s not any sort of concept that this is weird or socially unacceptable. Contrast this with certain mindsets in the larger western culture that see the request to wear a mask as a collaborative disease prevention method as a personal affront and an assault on their “freedumbs”…
I live about 2 miles south of the one in Fort Lee New Jersey. Also pretty big. Same precautions plus “Hero Hour”, allowing medical personnel, the elderly and pregnant women to shop 1 hour earlier than the rest of the crowd. Its crazy popular because its the only supermarket in the area which also sells liquor (a rarity in NJ)
My father in law sent me a package of face masks about a year ago. I thought it was silly. But boy are they useful right now!
OMG, where did you find that…
Reddit, where they can’t seem to figure out if it’s ironic or not. But a search shows that it’s for sale.
