I was going to make a similar comment, having watched the whole show a couple years back. Also of note is that although KARR did fly off a cliff and blow up in his first episode, he was later found in the ocean, towed out and repaired- at which point he also got a two-tone black and silver paint job that, along with the amber scanner, helped differentiate him from KITT. In the first episode he was voiced by Peter Cullen (the voice of Optimus Prime), and in the second by Paul Frees (the voice of the Haunted Mansion “ghost host”).
At the end of the second episode he was destroyed (again), but it was heavily implied that his circuitry was intact. I always wished they would have a third episode where they installed KARR’s computer into Goliath, the giant semi truck driven by Garthe Knight, a criminal whose face Michael Knight’s was modeled after when he was surgically reconstructed in the first episode. It would have been pretty great to see Michael Knight and KITT fighting against a team-up of their evil twins!
