Maybe I just don’t follow these kinds of events very often, and don’t think like a predator.
To me, the one-sentence paragraph in the middle of the article about stopping at Wal-Mart to buy her a phone was just weird. Especially the fact they had to pool their money to purchase the phone.
From that location, Nissen and the other individual put money together to take the victim to Wal-Mart to buy a phone.
No reason given for that detour within the context of the rest of the article, yet it was important enough to mention in the first place.
I’m guessing it will come out in court, if it goes to court.

As a woman, I do think like one when I have to, so I can protect myself from predators. I wish I didn’t, but that is the reality we have right now.
