As Beau said all the time, “They have no interest in representing, they only want to rule.”
C’mon phlogiston!!!
But hey, at least they didn’t gather the College Republicans around and build a ceremonial bonfire out of them. Progress!
Wait, are you saying the Faux not-news-but-entertainment lied? Why, that is unheard of! If it were true, they would have to pay millions, no, many millions in damages! What? Really? Oh, ok, never mind…
Ethnic enclaves sound like fun places to find parties and special celebrations. I think that he would have agreed years ago
FTA:
A Centre for Climate Reporting journalist, under the guise of the fake donor’s relative, also secretly recorded a separate conversation with one of Vought’s aides, who went into more detail about the process. Micah Meadowcroft, the research director for CRA, said the drafts the group was preparing would be provided to an incoming Trump administration in a way that would protect them from ever being publicly disclosed.
“It’s a big, fat stack of papers that will be distributed during the transition period,” Meadowcroft said in the video – while noting that “you don’t actually, like, send them to their work emails,” in order to avoid disclosure under the Freedom of Information Act.
He described Vought’s work preparing executive orders and policy playbooks as “the second phase” of Project 2025.
The work of drafting policies is happening months ahead of the election in part because “President Trump will want to spend literally zero amount of time thinking or contemplating what a transition will look like,” Vought said. “It’s not how he thinks.”
Ugh, these… people…
Better get that communication discipline baked in, ASAP, so as not to be subject to a FOIA! Better make sure there’s nothing to see here folks! Totally not sus!
Their puppet already does “spend literally zero amount of time thinking or contemplating what a transition will look like” because he’s not just running for president, he’s running [away] from jail.
House Republicans target Tim Walz in new probe
The Republican-led House Oversight Committee is opening an investigation into Minnesota Gov. Tim Walz, Democrats’ candidate for vice president.
Why it matters: The panel has spent the last year and a half trying to bring to light damaging information about President Biden. Now, it is setting its sights on the new Democratic ticket.
Driving the news: Oversight Committee Chair James Comer (R-Ky.) sent a letter to FBI Director Christopher Wray asking for information about Walz’s connections to China.
Wankers.
DeSantis put his fellow Republican in place at UofF, and he treated it like his personal checking account.
Most people, when they think of Nazism, imagine a rigid dictatorship, in which Hitler gave strict orders to carry out a carefully engineered program of genocide.
They don’t realize the degree to which Nazi functionaries improvised in an effort to curry favor w the Fuhrer by anticipating what they thought he might like to see.
IOW, they ramped up the violence b/c they believed they would be rewarded for it.
This is how “MASS DEPORTATION NOW” spirals out of control.
Hitler was not a “details” guy. He wasn’t even a particularly hard worker.
What he was, though, was a “broad sketches” guy and a manic monologue guy.
Somebody who made HUGE and wildly unconventional pronouncements that excited curiosity and awe among a certain set of Germans, who then waited anxiously to see whether anyone might step forward to execute and put into concrete form the deviant ideas that peppered his speeches.
When people say “don’t take Trump literally” or “he doesn’t really mean what he says,” that’s completely beside the point.
It’s what his speech unleashes in others.
It’s the license he gives others to turn the crank, to up the ante, and to break conventions.
Trumpism is a permission structure.
It’s an uncorking of violent animosities which have existed for a long time in our country.

Odd choice for a cocktail.
