WTF is this nonsense? “Unborn parents”? This asshole can’t even write.
Unborn babies are a source of profound joy for those who view them. Expectant parents eagerly share ultrasound photos with loved ones. Friends and family cheer at the sight of an unborn child. Doctors delight in working with their unborn patients – and experience an aesthetic injury when they are aborted.
ETA: I misread patients as parents. It still stands, though. The patient is the mother to be, not the fetus.
Gibson Dunn, they seem nice.
Then there’s Gibson Dunn, the law firm which has been representing the Brackeens pro bono. The firm has represented plaintiffs in several cases that take issue with laws specific to Native communities; Matthew McGill, the lawyer representing the Brackeens, also serves as counsel for a casino company in a federal case arguing that the Washington law limiting sports wagering to tribal entities is discriminatory. Gibson Dunn is known for representing Chevron in the decade-long lawsuit brought by indigenous communities in Ecuador, as well as the corporation behind the Dakota Access Pipeline.
Because doctors are the real victims here? WTAF?
Come on, doc! We all know how sensitive yall are to “aesthetic injuries”!
I mean, WTF does that shit EVEN MEAN…
Turns out one of the consequences of an entire party abdicating its elected officials’ responsibilities for governing is that the other party may step up to fill the vacuum.
Womp-womp.
And hopefully, his super-sekret-fundie-pals-klub will kick him out for working with those satanic democrats… and then what will he do!!!
If he has some Dem votes- they won’t be able to kick him out. Now would be the time for Dems to get serious concessions from him in legislation and operations. And rules.
Luckily, ICWA was saved by the Supreme Court last year. Neil Gorsuch, as it turns out, is a big supporter of laws designed to protect Native American’s rights. But yes, Gibson Dunn is awful.
House Democrats want Speaker Johnson to outline path on Ukraine aid before agreeing to save his job
I don’t know what good it does because it seems like the Republicans never hold up their end of the bargain.
Indeed… but can they trust the guy?
Who knows? But whoever the R’s pick won’t be compromising with the Dems at the start. You get what you can till you have a majority.
And can’t any member file for a removal vote? That might be a sliver of leverage. The Dems could file that and might get a few random R’s to vote that way. The ones who want to remove him now. But they’re just oppositional on everything; so maybe not.
Oh yeah… if MTG gets Johnson removed, she’ll push for an even more extreme speaker, of course… And I doubt that’ll be an easy vote to get…
Yeah, I don’t really blame them for reaching out in support… they actually want to get shit down, unlike their colleagues in the GOP who just want to obstruct for dear leader…
Ugh… I hate this. It all feels like a no-win situation for anyone who isn’t just an obstructionist extremist…
Activist Disney investor questions why a film set in Africa has an mostly black cast
Perhaps they can also ban the boogey man.
