The GOP-led House Oversight Committee subpoenaed three senior White House aides Wednesday, demanding they sit for depositions regarding President Biden’s health, according to letters obtained by Axios.
Why it matters: The subpoenas signal Republicans’ desire to investigate whether some of Biden’s closest aides essentially have hidden the 81-year-old president’s true condition in a probe that could drag through the Nov. 5 election.

There’s no crime or legitimate legislative purpose to look at here. The President can invoke executive privilege honorably.
Or they go and say - what the fuck are you assholes talking about. Shouldn’t you be spending your time looking at how to help the American people? Or at the very least if MTG has CTE, whether the pages are safe around Jim Jordan or if Clarence Thomas has money stuffed in the walls of his rv.
Or - the Dems just use that one silly rule to challenge the Speakership every week.

That reminds me of when a bunch of GOP Oregon congresscritters went AWOL a few years ago - right when there was a massive fire in some of their own districts - preventing the legislature from approving emergency aid. The governor ended up sending as much aid as was allowed under an executive order (less than was needed, and less than the legislature could approve). So the same party that forced her hand also called it “overreach.”
