Here in Dallas, the reasoning for liquor stores being considered essential is that we can’t have alcoholics with the DTs cluttering up the hospitals. When you consider how little concern Texas normally has for addicted individuals of any kind, that’s pretty rich.
The same reason was given for keeping the provincially-run liquor stores open in Ontario. I can see the point that now is not the time to have the whole province quit cold turkey.
I live just down the road from Lansing, in the college town of East Lansing. A lot of red/blue energy going on here yesterday. Needless to say these well-padded ham mannequins do not speak for me.
49th parallel, period! (Unless you’re around the Gulf Islands, Great Lakes or St. Lawrence River…)
Hella right ON.
The larger the MAGAt groupings, the quicker this malignancy will self-correct.
on the plus side maybe they’ll get covid-19 and decrease the surplus population.
A true artist would insure that the group is COVID-19 Positive just in time for Trumps campaign rallies.
Liquor stores are open because you can die from alcohol withdrawl.
Here in North Carolina you can buy beer and wine in grocery stores but not liquor, which is only sold in state run stores. Problem is that a bottle of beer only has about as much alcohol as a shot of vodka, and when you body is used to drinking half a bottle a day a 6 pack isn’t gonna cut it.
Why’d they bring guns? So they can shoot the virus? That’s silly.
do you imagine that guns and ammo are cheap, much less $30,000 chevys? It’s easier to pose as a working class american than to be one.
Yeah, guaranteed most of those folks were contractors and developers and other “small business owners” who live in McMansions. They aren’t “working class.”
I work with people like this people who brag about their firearms and how many modifications they’ve made to them, as if it was somehow useful.
This has become a contingent of people who exist in the United States in a tactical fantasy where they are the hero living the video game with all the custom Armament that says that they are a badass.
The guy I am thinking of specifically where I work is massively out of shape never shuts the fuck up, ignores anything you try to say to him, and keeps talking. Forever. About his goddamned AR.
He’s a nice enough guy honestly but he’s ex-military, except he was maintenance in the military. He’s maintenance where I work.
So many people like this is the US- hollow identities without their guns. They let guns define them. At the expense of frightening the rest of us in public when they do shit like this. That guy front and center- probably just wanted to show off his custom AR build to his gun nut buddies and look “hard”.
God I fucking hate these people (and I still like guns- but not people that fetishize them like this)
Let’s all pause and appreciate this gentleman.

I love a lot about Michigan, especially the natural beauty of the state. Yet I was never impressed with the native species known as stereotypical fat guy with tactical gear bought from Amazon.
