Um. not to be pedantic about this…I do not recall that Disney wanted Fox news or Sports. They very specifically went to Fox to purchase the entertainment wing. And it was entirely around wanting back full ownership of all the marvel properties. Everything else that came along was gravy, but not what they were seeking.

I was half-joking about ditching Fox News being a fringe benefit. I do know regulators approved the sale on the condition that Disney couldn’t buy Fox Sports. Whether they ever asked to I couldn’t say.
