This year I ended up with more Thai chilies than I can eat fresh (or dried, or frozen), so some of them will be some sort of hot sauce. The irony of the great Sriracha shortage of 2023 is that it actually is only impacting one particular (most famous, California) brand, and there are plenty of identical brands still available in quantity.
Still, it’s a harbinger of things to come, as climate change disrupts crops globally. The olive oil shortage in the next few years (at least) is going to be ugly. Maybe the farmers can all switch to making fentanyl…
My tolerance for peppers like scotch bonnet and habanero is approximately the same (to bring this subthread back around to the topic) as for fentanyl; micrograms.

while my hot peppers can induce mild euphoria to nightmarish psychoactive reactions in those who consume them; just say no to fentanyl kids, mmkay?
